whether it’s a brand new page or the page has existed for six months.

I want you to take a look at this picture here. 

This is an analytics screenshot of iamvashif.com. You’ll notice that I get a lot of traffic from the United Kingdom, but the United Kingdom doesn’t even makeup 50% of my traffic. Why? 

Because I’ve expanded globally. 

There’s a lot of popular regions on my website, such as IndiaBrazil, all the Spanish-speaking markets.

I’ve expanded globally.

You know what? I’ve done this because there is no competition overseas.

So now, I’m going to teach you how to do the same. 

Step 1-

This has been one of the biggest driving factors of my growth.

The first thing you want to do is translate your content.

Whatever you do have, you want to translate into the languages that you’re going after.

Keep in mind, the majority of the world doesn’t just speak English.

There are languages like HindiMandarin, that are extremely popular, and there’s a ton of money outside of just the United States.

The world doesn’t revolve around America.

It’s much bigger than just one country.

By translating your content to different languages, now when people are googling within their own language, they can then come to your website.

You can use a plugin like Transposh.

It’s a WordPress plugin that helps translate your content.

It’s not that effective.

A better way or a better strategy is to do it manually.

You can go to sites like IT World and hire translators.

They’re not that expensive.

You can translate a lot of the pages on your site for 50 bucks, 100 bucks, and go from there. 

Step 2-

Now, after you translate your content, the second thing you want to do is use the HREF lang code.

Hreflang code is from Google, or at least Google uses it. 

I don’t know who created it, but a lot of search engines use it. 

What HREF lang does is it tells the search engines, 

“Hey. This page here is my English version, and this other page is my Portuguese version for Brazil.”

If you look at the source code for iamvashif.com, you’ll notice that I have HREF lang for GermanSpanish, and Portuguese Brazil.

By using HREF lang, it tells Google, “Hey. 

For these search engines over here, let’s in Brazil, rank the Portuguese content instead of the English content.”

You want to do that because let’s say in regions like Brazil, roughly 5% of the market speaks English. 95% speak Portuguese.

All you have to do is give it time, do the HREF lang set up, make sure you enter a link, so your Portuguese pages should link to your other Portuguese pages.

You don’t want your Portuguese pages linking back to your English pages.

By doing that, your rankings are going to go up.

One simple thing to know is that when you use HREF lang and you’ve translated your content when someone is coming to your website, you want to redirect them to the region that they’re from.

You do this because of browser settings.

Let’s say they use Google Chrome.

Well, Google Chrome tells your website that hey, this person reads, let’s say in German, or they read in Portuguese, and you can automatically redirect them.

You can hire a developer from IT World to do this, and let them know that do not redirect search engine bots.

The reason you don’t want to redirect search engine bots is that a lot of servers are in regions that are English-speaking, like the United States.

Google is crawling your German version of your site from the United States.

You don’t want to redirect them.

You want to let them read your English site and your German site, but you want to redirect the users.

When you tell the developer this, they’ll know how to do this for you.

They don’t have as much authority as TechCrunch.com because TechCrunch has so many more backlinks, but what I can tell you is, Mashable does a much better job of internal linking, and that’s why they rank so high.

1 Simple Trick to Get Ranked High on Google FAST Internal Linking for SEO

Step 1- If you look at iamvashif.com, you will notice that I rank really high for terms like online marketing.

I am on page one.

You are probably wondering, how did I do this?

It wasn’t through building links through external sites, in which other websites are linking to me.

It was mainly through internal links.

Every time I write a blog post about online marketing, I made sure that I link to my main guide, which discusses what online marketing is. 

Step 2- The next thing you want to do is a link within your sidebar.

If you look at any blog post page, on iamvashif.com, and scroll, you will notice that in the sidebar, I link to all my guides.

One of them is online marketing.

As you can see, that link is visible, and it’s pretty much on every single page in iamvashif.com.

Bypassing a lot of internal links to that page,

it’s telling Google that hey,

I Am Vashif, the value of that page and feel it’s important, and for that reason,

Google is like,

okay because you are putting so much emphasis on this page,

we should rank it higher than your other pages.

Now, the key with doing this is, you can have this link hidden, so some people like putting it in tabs or shoving it really in small text, or font size, or making it invisible.

You don’t want to do any of that stuff.

That doesn’t work well. That worked in the early 2000s. 

That stuff now can hurt you and get you penalized.

You want to make sure the link is visible, and it’s on every major page of your site.

So, all you have to do is follow two steps: 

One link within your content, and when you are doing this, don’t always use the exact keyword.

Make it flow naturally.

Just don’t use the keyword you want a rank for.

By putting too much anchor text in there, the anchor text being the keyword you want a rank for, sometimes you will notice that your rankings will actually drop.

So, by making it more natural,

Google will notice that, and your rankings will rise faster.

The second thing is: make sure you are linking to your most important pages, within your sidebar of every page.

That’s it.

Follow those two steps, and you will rank higher through internal linking

How to Increase Your Search Traffic by 60% in 30 Days

In December 2019, I had 283,00 visitors in that month from Google.

You can see it within my analytics.

In January 2020, right, which is the next month …

I understand December has some holidays like Christmas, but still, overall I had a huge increase.

My search traffic in January 2019 went up to 449,00 visitors.

That’s roughly a 60% increase in search traffic. You may be asking how’d I get such a big, drastic increase?

Did I build more links? No. 

Did Google change your algorithm? No. 

All that happened was I made one simple change on my website. 

What is this change? Well, my URL structure on my website used to be iamvashif.com/month/year/ the title of the page or the title of the blog post. 

You know what? 

That URL structure is very inefficient because google will look at that URL structure and be like,

“Hmmm, this webpage must be related to the date because the date was ahead of the blog title or the page title in the URL structure.”

Google looks at the URL structure as a hierarchy, so they’re correlating every single page or blog post relating to a specific day. 

That’s very inaccurate because a year from now, these blog posts are still relevant.

Now, my blog posts are iamvashif.com/blog/title of the blog post. 

That one simple change made Google realize that my blog posts aren’t related to the specific date and my search traffic went up drastically.

Now, if you’re going to do this change on your website because a lot of WordPress blogs have dates in their URL, there are a few things you need to know. 

Step 1-
Number one, you can’t just change your URL structure.

You have to take all your old URLs and 301 redirect them to your new URLs.


Step 2-
The second thing you need to do is change all the internal links you have on your website and change them from the old way, which had the dates, to the new way without the dates.

Step 3-
The way you want to structure your website is all your blog posts should be under the blog URL structure.

All of your other pages should be under whatever structure is most related to them.

Let’s say you have this whole other section related to flight, it could be domain.com/flights/whatever the page title would be.

that hierarchy, the folder above your main pages, should be related to whatever category it is and that category should be within your URL structure.

By doing that one simple changes, you should get more traffic.

You may not get a 60% increase as I did, but you should see an increase.

Everyone told me more links you build the better off you are.

I kept building links over the year this one change increased my search traffic. more than anything else.

Step 1-

The first thing you need to do is look for someone who has a proven track record.

Everyone goes out, and they’re like, Hmm, let me Google who’s relevant within my city or community who can help me with SEO.

Well, just because that person knows about SEO doesn’t mean they’re actually good at it.

If they don’t have rankings on they’re probably not great at SEO.

When you’re looking for one, you want to look for someone who ranks for some keywords.

You can Google SEO companySEO consultantSEO consultant in Los Angeles.

Whatever city you’re in, you can type in SEO consultant or SEO company within and put in that city and start looking from there.

You can also go to LinkedIn and type in SEO consultants and see which type of consultants are working for other companies.

If you know a company is doing really well, you can approach them and try to get them to work for you. 

Step 2-

The second thing you need to do is post job listings.

I like posting job listings on Indeed.

I also like looking on AngelList and I also like putting job listings on Craigslist.

Those are three easy places that you can go to find a ton of SEOs.

They’ll apply for the job descriptions.

Ask them what rankings they provided to other people.

Make sure they show you results and just because they said, Hey, I helped this site with their rankings, they could be making it up.

Make sure they provide you with references or testimonials and case studies. 

Make Sure To Get Reference and Case Studi, from Your Potential Hires.

Step 3-

That way, you can back up the that they’re making.

The third thing you need to do is don’t go and hire someone full-time.

Test them out.

Test them on your website and have them look at it and don’t do this as a homework assignment but just over the phone.

Just say, Hey, check out our website.

What do you think?

As you’re interviewing them, 

Ask Your Potential Hire, For 5 SEO Changes, They Would Make On Your Website.

say, Hey, can you list off five SEO changes that you would recommend?

You don’t have to tell me exactly how you’re going to fix them but just tell me five things that stand out that are wrong that should be fixed.

If they can point them out to you, great. If they can’t, that means they’re probably not that good at SEO.

A really good experienced SEO should just be able to look at a source code, your website, and just tell you within a few minutes what’s wrong.

You want to do that on the live interview to put them on the spot.

If you do it over e-mail or as a homework assignment, they can do their research and you don’t want to have to hire someone who has to research to figure things out and then experiment on your site in hopes that you’ll get results.

Step 4- 

The last thing you want to do is make sure when you hire them, you test them out on a very small project.

Give them a page or a key phrase that’s not too competitive.

Test them out for 30 to 60 days and if you see things are moving in the right direction, and the way you do this is using Google search console, and through search console, whatever page is optimizing, Google search console will list out the number of clicks and impressions that page is getting.

Look at the impression count because before the clicks go up, your impression count goes up as your rankings increase.

As long as the impression count is going up, that means you’re knowing that they’re doing a good job.

If you follow those steps, you’ll be hiring a great SEO.

If you just go in, you trust someone, you hire them, you pay them a salary, you know what, you could be hiring someone that’s not going to produce any results.

My route does take a bit more time and effort but when you do find someone, they tend to work out for the long haul.

So that’s probably going to be a Google or Facebook, and you can see by going to Alexa.com and they rank the most popular sites all over the web and they even have a list of the top hundred websites.

You Want Your Alexa Number To Continually Drop and Get Closer To #1

When you are looking at this rating number, you want to climb towards the top.

What that means is you want your Alexa number to continually drop.

So how do you do this? Well, you get more traffic.

The more people that visit your website, the better off your Alexa ranking is going to be.

So there are a few quick wins you can do to increase your Alexa rank.

Step 1- Alexa 

The first thing you can do is install the Alexa toolbar.

The lower the number again, the better your Alexa rank.

Step 4- Ahrefs

The fourth thing you can do is use AHREFS.com, type in your competitor URLs, and see who links to them.

Email each of those people out, it’s that simple.

Follow those steps and your Alexa rank will improve over time.

When you do them do expect your number to drop closer to one or a thousand cause it’s really hard to get to those numbers, but you can get to one hundred thousand or maybe fifty thousand or even twenty or thirty thousand.

But it takes time.

Look at your Alexa ranking it should improve over a period of thirty to sixty days after you implement these steps.

Step 1- Write a Conversational Tone


The first thing you need to do is write in a conversational tone.

I know I’ve mentioned this many times, but it’s really important.

Think about our college lecture.

If your professor’s really boring and he just rambles on, what are you going to do?

You’re going to fall asleep but if he creates a conversation with you, you’re much more likely to engage and respond.

The way you create a conversation is to use the words you and I.

When you use the words you and I within your blog posts,

the text that you’re writing creates a conversation and it encourages more people to leave a comment.

Step 2- Ask Your Question End Your Blog Post


Number two is always asking a question at the end of your blog posts,

so when people are done reading your blog posts,

what do they do next?

Well if you leave a question for them, they’re much more likely to give you an answer.

If you don’t leave a question at the end, they’re not going to leave a comment because they don’t know what to do next.

By you leaving a question at the end, it tells them that they need to leave a comment.

Step number three, make sure you use subheadings.

People skim content.

By using subheadings within your blog posts, as you see at iamvashif.com,

what people do is they’ll go through your content quicker and because they go through your content quicker,

within a few minutes, they’ll be able to understand the gist of your blog post and they’ll figure out if they want to engage with you,

Share it on the social web and that’s really,

Step 3- Use SabHeading


it’s those three things.

You write in a conversational tone by using the words you and I, you end your blog posts with a question, and third,

you make sure you use subheadings so people can skim your posts.

Sure you can try to do things like share it on the social networks or try to get more comments and try to use tactics like using Facebook comments vs your normal blog comments,

but I found that none of them really impact how many comments that you’re going to generate vs the three that I mentioned.

Just focus on those three and you’re going to get more blog comments.

Step 1- Count down Clock

If you look at the iamvashif.com homepage, you’ll notice that there’s a countdown clock.

That countdown clock is accurate, it resembles when our offer is going to end.

If you leverage the countdown clock on your website, you’ll notice that you’ll get more conversions.

When I put a countdown clock on iamvashif.com, I noticed an 11% increase in conversions, just from that one little tweak. 

Step 2- Use Exit Popup

The second strategy for you.

Use exit popups.

You’ll also notice on iamvashif.com, I have an exit popup.

Mine’s an animated GIF. It’s one of the highest converting elements for me when it comes to emails.

I even show in the background what you’re gonna get and how my rankings are really high, right?

Because it’s related to my exit offering.

When you show people what they’re gonna get within your exit intent, but using an animated GIF within the background, you’ll generate more conversions.

And you can use the tool Hello Bar to do this.

Step 3- Try $1 and Free 30 Days

The third strategy that I have for you is a $1 trial.

No matter what product or service you have, you’ll notice that some people are gonna buy.

For all the people that aren’t gonna buy, which is the majority, offer them one last-ditch effort to convert them.

I usually do a $1 trial, or you can do a 30 day free trial with a credit card upfront.

Test a few different types of things.

You can email these people the offer so that way it’s not affecting the conversions of all the people on the front end of your website.

And then see how many people you can get to convert.

On iamvashif.com, when I used to sell informational products, I learned that by doing a $1 trial,

I’d increase my revenue by 15%. It really was that simple. 

Step 4- Geotargeting

The fourth strategy that I have for you is to make your webpage more personalized, and you can do this through geotargeting.

Why not personalize your webpage and include the person’s city within your copy?

So, if you look at one of my pages, you’ll notice that I put your city within my headline.

By doing this, I was able to increase my conversions by over 20%. Why?

The page is more personalized.

It makes you feel that I’m giving an offer just for you.

That’s what happens when you put a city within your headline. 

Step 5- PicSnippet

Strategy number five. PicSnippet.

What PicSnippet is it allows you to send a personalized image-based email to your readers?

So, you’ll notice on Vashif, if you’ve opted into my email list, and you’re trying to watch a webinar but you don’t join,

I’ll send you a customized email message with me holding up a sign with your name in there.

I don’t really take a picture each and every single time, I use a software called PicSnippet,

that’s the tool I use, and it allows me to dynamically insert your name into the image so that when you load the email,

it’s customized and you’re like,

“Oh, wow. Vashif sent me this personalized email holding up an image or a sign with my name on it.

I’m much more likely to click there and convert.” It works extremely well. 

Step 6- All Remarketing

The sixth strategy I have for you is remarketing.

I know it’s been out there for years, but very few people do it.

If 95+% of your visitors aren’t converting into customers,

why aren’t you retargeting them all over the web and offering them different types of offers or educational material to get them back over to your website, and then convert them.

You can use Google remarketing, you can use Youtube remarketing and create videos,

inaudible before, you can do remarketing on Facebook.

The possibilities are endless.

Remarketing is a really effective channel, and I do something that’s very specific in which everyone who visits my checkout or credit card page and doesn’t convert,

I remarket those people and show them a video on Facebook and Youtube of what they’re gonna get if they were to buy, and I answer all the objections that they may have.

It’s a really simple strategy that I use to increase sales. 

Step 7- LeadQuizzes

The seventh and last strategy I have for you is quizzes.

There’s a tool called LeadQuizzes that I like using.

What Lead Quizzes does, allows you to create a quiz that gets people engaged.

I found that when I create a quiz, roughly 60% of the people go through it and often to a lead.

Let’s say you’re visiting iamvashif.com, and you’re watching videos like this or reading my blog posts, and you want to increase your traffic, right?

That’s why you’re here on my website.

I’ll end up creating a quiz.

Let’s say the quiz is to learn how to grow your traffic.

And the quiz may ask you certain things like what type of website do you have?

Have you tried SEO? PPC? 

And it asks you five, or six, or seven, or eight questions, and then at the end,

Does it say want to see the results for the best way to grow your traffic?

Put in your name and email to get the results.

That’s how you generate leads from quizzes.

So, if you leverage these seven tactics, you will start generating more conversions and sales using unorthodox strategies.

So the first thing you need to do is create a responsive design.

If you notice and you’re on a desktop computer and you minimize the window,

as you shrink it left to right,

it’ll get smaller and you can see that the design changes.

So depending on the device head, because some people could have a big iPhone or a small iPhone like me because I’m too cheap and I don’t want to upgrade my iPhone 4,

The last thing you want to do is just create a mobile-specific website.

Because if you create a mobile-only type of website,

what happens is everyone who comes to your website on a mobile device,

sees certain information.

And then,

if you update your website for desktop computers,

you’re then going to have to go back and update your mobile version.

It’s too much work.

Make 1 Website That Is Responsive For Mobile and Desktop Users

You want to have one website for both mobile and desktop users, and even tablet users.

Tablet users are usually grouped in with mobile users.

Step 2-


The second thing that you should consider as well,

and this is if you want to go above and beyond,

is to leverage Google’s AMP framework.

What their AMP framework is,

is it makes the website very minimal so it loads extremely fast just for people who are on mobile devices.

The reason this is important is even if someone has 4G or LTE and a really fast web connection when they’re traveling around,

some places don’t have great wifi or don’t have great signal.

For those places, by having an AMP-compatible website,

your webpages,

especially on mobile devices,

are going to load extremely fast and due to that,

your user signals and your user experience are going to be higher.

Google will eventually push your web pages higher and higher.

They’re pushing this framework so hard that you’ll tell that in the future,

people who use AMP are much more likely to rank higher because it’s going to provide better user signals.

Step 3-


The third thing that you need to do is minimize what you show people on mobile devices.

So you have a responsive design now, and let’s say you go to IAmVashif.com/blog and click on a blog post.

You’ll notice that on my blog post I have so much stuff going on.

I have the content, I have ads within the post, I have a sidebar with all these elements.

But on my mobile devices, you’ll notice that if you look at the mobile view, you see the content first and you don’t see too much stuff going on.

Why do I do that?

Because with mobile devices, if you show them too much stuff it overwhelms them, especially a small screen, and your conversions will go down.

So what you want to do is, with the responsive design, show the most important elements first, and then put all the other stuff at the bottom.

That’s what I do with my I Am Vashif blog post.

This helps increase my mobile conversions.

Step 4-


The fourth thing that you need to do is leverage exit pop-ups.

So on your mobile device, you can actually do it where after someone’s on there for 20 or 30 seconds, you can show them a pop-up.

You can show them these pop-ups using HelloBar, which is a free tool.

So you can create a pop-up within seconds, and do it where after 30 or 40 seconds of someone being on your site on a mobile device it shows them a pop-up.

This won’t hurt your Google rankings because you’re not showing them the pop-up right when they visit your website, but instead, you’re showing it after they’ve engaged.

Google will see this, they will not hit you with the mobile penalization penalty.

I know they stated in 2017 that they’re going to roll out a penalty for people who use exit pop-ups on mobile devices, but if you show it after 20 or 30 seconds of them browsing your site on a mobile device, you won’t get penalized.

That’s the fourth tactic that you need to leverage.

Step 5-

The fifth strategy that you want to leverage is called Tap To Call.

When someone’s on a desktop computer they can’t click your phone number and call you.

On a mobile device, they can tap on your phone number and call you.

Most people like making their phone numbers images, so that way it stays all pretty.

That’s the wrong thing you want to do.

You want to use Tap To Call HTML. (href=”tel:+919450840402“>) You can make your phone number tappable,

so when people put their finger on it,

it’ll start ringing and it’ll go to your business.

If you leverage those five strategies,

you will generate more sales from mobile devices.

The cool part about affiliate marketing is that its performance-based marketing.

If someone drives you a lead or a sale, you pay them out.

You pay them on a cost per acquisition.

An acquisition can be a lead or a sale for you.

You determine whatever it is. And you can even determine what you want to pay people.

If your product sells for 500 bucks and your margin on it is 250 – in essence you’re operating at a 50% margin – and if you decide: “hey I’m willing to pay someone $100 for every sale they drive me” then you can offer affiliates”Hey for every sale you drive me, I’m going to give you a $100″.

And they may decide that they’re going to drive these sales through SEO, Pay Per Click, Facebook advertising. Whatever it may be.

And that’s up to them. That’s what affiliate marketing is all about. 

Step 1-

Now there are a few things that you to know about affiliate marketing.

Number one: it’s really hard to recruit affiliates. Where do you look for them right?

You can’t just go around the web to go find marketers and say “hey, you want to join my affiliate program?”. Instead, you want to join networks like Clickbank.com.

So when you join these affiliates’ networks and you talk to them, they’ll tell you: “Hey here’s your product.

Here’s what you should price it at for CPA.

This is what you should pay people every time they drive you a sale.” And they’ll make sure it’s competitive and you’re not losing money. Because the last thing you want to do is be willing to pay someone $10 per sale when it costs them $20.

Because if it costs someone $20 to drive your sale, they’re not going to take $10.

That means they’re going to be losing money.

Especially if you’re making thousands of dollars.

They’re going to be like: “no, you gotta offer more.” You have to be competitive.

And companies like Clickbank that offer affiliate networks will tell you what you should price your offer at.

There are other ones too, like another site that I use is JVZoo.

JVZoo is also another place that you go to recruit affiliates.

In addition to that, you can also go to conferences like Affiliate Summit. Affiliate Summit or Affiliate World are really big affiliate conferences where all these marketers go and they’re looking for new offers to promote.

So go there and you’ll find people who’ll be willing to promote your offers and these conferences even teach you how to price your product, what to sell it for, what to give affiliates to incentivize them etc. 

Step 2-

The second thing you need to do is to continually optimize your own website.

If people are driving traffic, but those visitors aren’t converting into customers, that means they’re either driving irrelevant traffic, but most affiliate marketers are good at what they do.

So usually the traffic sources typically qualify or it means that your web page isn’t converting and your web page not converting is usually the issue.

So you want to run surveys.

You can use Quaraloo.com. That’s a tool that I love using and you can ask people questions on your landing page such as: 

Wait For 30 + Responses To Make Changes On Your Website

“What else would you like to see on this page?”. After you get 30 plus responses, you’ll get a really good understanding of what’s wrong and you can fix those things.

As you fix those things, you’ll notice that your conversions will go up.

The More Visitors You Receive, The More Sales You Will Receive

In essence, the more visitors coming to your website come more of them will convert into sales because you’re fixing the conversion.

While before you may have had over a thousand visitors to your website and zero buy, and now it could be that after you fix the conversions, a thousand come and ten buy.

Improve Your Conversion Rates By Optimizing Your Website

That’s improving conversion rates and that’s what happens.

Another tool that you should use is Crazyegg.com and with Crazyegg it will show you where people scroll, what they click on.

It’ll track the mouse movements of your visitors and that will give you insights on what you need to change so that you can maximize your conversion rate.

So if you do those two things, you can generate traffic through affiliate marketing.

And affiliate marketing is one of the most powerful marketing techniques or tactics out there.

Especially for businesses that don’t have a tonne of capital. Because you only pay money for sales.

Pay Affiliates On A Net 30 Basis

And when you’re paying out the money for the sales, pay on a Net 30 basis.

Because sometimes you’ll get refunds or credit card fraud.

You don’t want to give out payouts for people who you’re refunding.

So to ensure that you’re not getting ripped off by these affiliate marketers, make sure your payouts are Net 30.

It’s really that easy.

And the beautiful part about Facebook Groups the people who you’re communicating with,

and engaging with,

if really do help ‘me out and answer whatever questions they have,

when you have something on your website that benefits you,

not only will you get more traffic from the Group,

but those visitors are much more likely to convert into customers because you’ve built a rapport with them,

you’ve built that connection, you’ve helped them out.

With your Facebook Group,

you’re building connections with people,

so as you help other people out,

and you create more and more engagement,

what you’ll notice is the community is there,

they’re gonna support you,

and they’re much more likely to go to your website,

visit your articles, share them, promote them, and even buy your products or services.

If you look at my Facebook Group,

even though it’s private, there’s tons of engagement.

The second thing that you want to do is join other people’s Facebook Groups.

So you can do searches on Facebook,

you can look for Groups, you can join me.

A lot of ’em are public, right?

You just click, join, you’ll get accepted,

once you get accepted, go in there, help other people out.

When they have questions related to products or services that you may offer,

don’t just promote your products,

help ’em out, and of course, at the same time, you can mention your product or service within there.

So you can do this by joining other Facebook Groups,

or creating your own,

or ideally, why not do both?

The key to doing all of this is the Facebook Group has to be related to the industry you’re in.

So if you’re selling dog products and you decide that you want to create Facebook Groups about marketing,

or join marketing Facebook Groups,

not really gonna help drive more traffic to your dog website.

It doesn’t matter that a lot of people have dogs, it’s just unrelated.

So you wanna make sure you’re joining,

and creating,

The first way you can get traffic is through Quora. Go on Quora, find all the people that are typing in questions related to your space.

For me,

I may go to Quora, type in online marketing and I’ll look up all the questions people are asking around online marketing.

You know what?

I’ll respond to them.

As I respond to them, if there’s a good place for me to put in a link to my website, I’ll do that. If you look at my Quora profile, the MohdVashif one, I generate over 100,000 views a month.

Why?

Because I’m continually answering more and more Quora questions within my space.

It’s a good source of traffic.

Step 2-

The second way you can get more traffic is through Reddit.

Reddit has subreddits literally on every single topic, whether it’s pets, marketing, space, et cetera.

There’s a section on Reddit pretty much for every industry out there.

What you want to do is participate in the community on Reddit.

Don’t just submit your own content, upvote content that you like.

Downvote content that you hate.

Submit other people’s content from around the web.

It’s a great way to generate more traffic.

Step 3-

The third way is forums.

Forums, everyone talks about how they’re dead because of Facebook but you know what? A lot of popular forums still exist on the web.

Go out there, participate in them, answer questions within your space.

For example, I’m in the online marketing niche, there are so many online marketing forums such as Warrior Forum or Digital Point.

When I go there and I respond to questions, in my signature, I can leave a link back to my URL or my homepage.

It’s a great way to drive more traffic.

Step 4-

The fourth way is sharing your content on LinkedIn.

Whether you have new posts or old posts, don’t just click the LinkedIn share button, you can actually write content on LinkedIn and what you want to do is make your blog content,

write the first few paragraphs of it, or more so copy and paste it right onto LinkedIn, and after,

let’s say, in the third or fourth paragraph, you can put “Click to continue reading,” and if they want to read the rest, they’ll go over back to your website.

It’s a really easy way to generate traffic.

I generate an excess of 30,000 visitors a month purely from LinkedIn by just using this tactic.

Step 5-

The fifth strategy that you should be using is to look for small blogs within your niche.

There’s a lot of popular blogs like Tech Crunch, Mashable, Forbes, et cetera, but there are also lots of smaller blogs within your niche and the people who read these blogs are much more relevant to you and your business.

What you want to do is go to all these blogs, look at their posts, leave comments.

Leave comments providing insights and with most blogs, when you leave a comment, it asked you for your name and URL.

When you share your name and URL, people can click on your name and go back to your website.

But make sure when you’re leaving comments, you’re not spamming.

If you’re not adding value, don’t leave a comment.

Step 6-

The sixth strategy I have for you is StumbleUpon.

StumbleUpon may not seem that popular because it actually is, and you can buy clicks for pennies on the dollar.

You put in what industry you’re going after, and you can buy clicks from StumbleUpon for pennies on the dollar.

StumbleUpon also, you can get free traffic if you use a toolbar and you’re sharing content from around the web as well.

Step 7-

The seventh strategy I have for you is to participate in Facebook groups.

Similar to forums and similar to Quora, people have a lot of questions in these Facebook groups.

Join them.

You can do a search on Facebook for anything.

It will show you, groups.

Let’s say I type in “marketing-related terms” and it will show me some groups.

I’ll join some of these groups and within these, I can participate and help people out.

If I have a blog post that’s relevant to some of the questions that people are asking, I can even link out to my own blog post.

By doing this, I’m driving traffic from Facebook.

The beautiful part about Facebook groups, it doesn’t adhere to the same restrictions or the algorithm that let’s say, a Facebook fan page does.

With the Facebook group, if you leave a comment and it’s a good comment, everyone within the group can see it and you’ll generate more traffic.

The first thing you need to do is google any of those localized search terms within your region.

What you’ll notice is there’s going to be a map at the top, and then there’s going to be three listings.

That’s called a local pack, and as you can see, there’s always a map, and there’s always three listings.

There are not five or six.

There are three listings.

You want to be in there.

Step 1-

The first thing you need to do is set up Google My Business.

When you do Google My Business and you submit your corporate information, you’re much more likely to get placed there.

Within there, you need to also put in the proper name, address, and phone number.

By putting in the right name, address, and phone number and making sure that data is consistent around the whole web, whether it’s Yelp or your own website, you’re much more likely to rank.

Step 2-

The second thing you need to do is optimize your site for local SEO. Beneath that, all those map listings, you’re going to see normal, organic listings.

You can also be there. You can take up double the spots.

How?

Make sure that you’re using localized terms on your website.

You also put your address on your website, the name of your company, your phone number.

All of that helps.

Don’t just do that on one web page.

Make sure it’s there on your contact page, your location page.

Also make sure it’s on any major page that talks about your business, such as your menu pages.

By doing that, you’re going to rank way higher.

Then go all the way to the Chamber of Commerce within your city and ask what other companies are within your space?

See if they can mention you.

Even the Chamber of Commerce.

A lot of times, they promote businesses within your city, so ask them to link to your site.

The more links you generate from sites within your region, the higher you’re also going to rank.

Step 3-

The third thing you want to do is improve your click-through rate.

Just because someone sees your business listing doesn’t mean they’re going to click on over to your website.

If you want to improve your click-through rate, the first thing you need to do is generate more reviews.

People come into your store.

Ask them to review it.

The more reviews you get, the more likely people are to come and click through.

The second thing you need to do is use Schema markup.

By using Schema markup, it gives Google all the data about your localized business.

Google has a whole page about Schema markup and shows you how to use that code.

Or if you have a WordPress website, you can use the Yoast SEO plug-in, and it will add Schema markup to your site automatically.

Make sure you fix that within your product or service.

I’ve already got a couple of businesses added but to go through and add a new business we’re just going to click on add business and do add a single business now if your business is already in the google system you’re going to go through and just type it in right here but if it’s not in the system you’ve never done any of this before what we’re going to do is click on add your business to google all right so right here we’re going to create our business profile so this is just like creating your own Facebook business page but it’s going to allow us to be found on google. which is extremely powerful so your business name is right here there’s a few things that we need to keep in mind when we’re going through and setting up our business name so let’s say we are a real estate agent. I’m just going to go through and type in Vashif real estate agent because more than likely if somebody’s going through and typing in the search bar for a real estate agent in phoenix Arizona they’re probably going to type in real estate agent phoenix Arizona right or the same thing with an electrician phoenix Arizona so you want to go through and be able to leverage these different keywords in your actual business profile. however, if you do take this to the extreme your google my business profile can get flagged by google so don’t go through and saying Vashif real estate agent near me and phoenix Arizona because that just doesn’t make sense whats over but go through and say Jason Wardrop real estate agent or Vashif real realty or realtor that totally makes sense right now these keyword strategies are something important to keep in mind because if I go over here and I type in google electrician near me check out these business names so Kinser electrical contracting LLC although that is the name of their LLC it’s not the best way to structure the name of your business for your google my business profile. 

okay so I would say something like Kinser electrician and then whatever the city is in okay so those are some different things to keep in mind as you’re going through and creating your business profile account here then as far as the business category. what I would do for a real estate agent I would do real estate agent and then you can see if you got agency or agents um depending on. if you’re a solo agent or if you’re a full-on team I would go through and choose whatever works best for you so I’m just going to do real estate agents right here. then I’m going to click next now what it’s going to do is just going to walk you step by step through creating this entire profile now remember. 

what I said earlier google likes it when you have the most up-to-date information on your profile so do you want to add a location customers can visit now obviously depending on your business maybe customers don’t actually visit a physical location. but if there’s any chance of them actually visiting your specific location. I would put yes and type in the address and all the contact information because google likes to have the best information as possible and whatever listing is going to have the best and most accurate information possible that is the one they’re more likely to show at the very top of their search engine now.

This example just because it’s a demo I’m just going to click on no right here but then it’s going to walk us to you where do you serve your customers so this is where you’re going to want to go through and put your exact city your address everything so. 

we’re going to go through and we’re going to click next and like.

I said even though this is optional highly recommend going through and filling out every step of your google my business profile.   

okay then down here what region is your business base in the united states or whatever country you’re located in how are they going to actually contact you. you want to throw in your website you want to throw in your contact phone number. okay even though it says I don’t need a website you want to go through and have that website because like I said the more accurate the information is the more likely Google is going to actually rank your business. 

when somebody is typing into search terms to find a business just like yours so for this example. I just threw in some basic information. 

we’re going to click next now next what it’s going to do is going to ask us to put in our mailing address to verify the business so what we’re going to do is we’re going to put in our mailing address this could be where you actually live. or where you work whatever works best with you but what’s going to happen is Google needs to verify your business and verify the actual location so they’re going to send out a little postcard and it’s going to have a confirmation id and that’s going to happen for the next two to three days after we complete this listing and then once you get that postcard you need to go back to your google my business profile. 

Type in that id so that your business can go through and be activated and go live on the google search engines now although you can go through and verify your business later this is an extremely important step because until you have verified your profile. you are not going to go through and rank in the search engine. so obviously this is just a demo so I’m going to hit verify later but I don’t recommend doing that I would go through and fill out all this information because the sooner you can get that postcard the soon you can go through and put in that little id code. and the sooner you can activate your google my business profile. 

So for this example I’m just going to do verify later so now it’s going to have you add your services and like I said although you can skip it I highly recommend going through and filling this out as completely as possible. so it has right here appraisal so we’re just going to click on that and we can even come in here and say home evaluation something like that and we’re just going to hit next so next we’re going to add our business hours. so what we’re going to do is just going to check on Monday do the opening time the closing time you’re going to do that for every single day of the week and like I said you want a complete profile for this example. 

I’m just going to click skip for right now and then the.  

Ad messaging is huge guys this is a brand new feature that googles my business is releasing and this is so powerful this is going to allow people that are searching for your business on their phone to be able to just tap message business. and

um but we don’t need to go through and set up an ad because of some of these little strategies.

Step 1-

Number One: Take all of your old content and continually post it on your Facebook fan page over and over again.

If you notice on the IT World Technologies Facebook fan page, a lot of the content I post isn’t new.

I take articles that were published a year ago and re-share them on Facebook.

You know what?

It drives a lot of traffic.

That actually accounts for more than 60% of my Facebook traffic.

That’s right.

My old content drives more than 60% of my Facebook traffic.

Step 2-

The second thing you need to do is tweet out 10 times a day.

When I was tweeting only once a day,

I was getting less than 1000 visitors a month, and then when I tweeted out over 10 times a day,

I got over 4000 visitors a month.

What you want to do is use the tool Buffer to schedule your tweets, and you want to take all your old content and schedule it on Twitter and continually tweet out roughly 10 times a day.

That way your old content is continually driving traffic back to your site.

Step 3-

The third thing you need to do is you probably have shared your content on LinkedIn, but you haven’t posted the content on LinkedIn.

What I mean by that is you can actually write articles on LinkedIn.

Take your old content,

but the first few paragraphs on LinkedIn, and then at the end put “Click to continue reading.”

That “Click to continue reading” link will drive people back to your site.

I do this roughly four times a week on my LinkedIn profile.

It’s a great way for me to drive traffic to iamvashif.com.

And you know what’s happened by doing this?

Well, before on LinkedIn, I wasn’t even getting 2000 visitors a month,

and now I’m getting over 33,000 visitors a month from LinkedIn purely by doing one thing,

which is taking the first few paragraphs of my old content,

publishing it on LinkedIn, and then putting the “Click to continue reading” link.

It’s that simple.

You can also use other social networks like Reddit, StumbleUpon, but using these three social networks is what’s going to drive most of the traffic from your old content back to your site.

It’s a simple way to get more website visitors.

Hey, Everyone,

I’m Vashif, and today I’m going to be explaining how you can use 301 and 302 redirects, as well as what’s the difference between them?

First off, if you have a domain name,

let’s say you started out with abcd.com, and you decided, “You know what? I hate these four-letter domain names.

They’re too long.

I actually want a two-letter domain name.

I just want ab.com.

If you decide that it’s too long and you’re going to change from abcd.com to ab.com, you want to do what’s called a 301 redirect.

A 301 redirect tells Google that, “Hey, we changed names.

We have a new domain name.

Take all our existing rankings from this site, and transfer it over to this new site.”

They do that.

It roughly takes anywhere from a few weeks to sometimes up to a few months to fully kick in,

but when you do a 301 redirect,

you’re telling Google, “We’ve permanently moved.”

Think of it as changing an address.

When you move locations, a new apartment, a new home, you’re telling the postal service that,

“Hey, I’ve changed locations,” and now they forward all mail to your new address.

The same thing happens when you use a 301 redirect.

A 302 redirect, on the other hand, is telling google, “Hey, we temporarily changed locations.”

Think of it as you’re going to a summer home and you’re staying there,

so you want your mail forwarded there for a few months, and then you’re going to go back to your original home.

That’s the same way it works on the web with a 302 redirect, in which, let’s say you offer winter products and summer products,

so your domain name is abcd.com/summer, and you decide that, “Hey, summer’s over.

We’re now going to shift into winter products.”

Well, you can do a 302 redirect saying, “Hey, we’ve moved abcd.com/summer to abcd.com/winter.

That tells Google, “Hey, temporarily, send all the traffic and the rankings, to abcd.com/winter.”

Now, in the eyes of Google, they said recently that they start looking at 301 redirects and 302 redirects the same, but not all search engines do this.

If you do a permanent move, use a 301, and if you’re doing a temporary move, use a 302 redirect.

You can do this for whole domain names, and you can do this for web URLs as well.

It could be web pages on your site, subdirectories, sub-domains,

If you’re going to do this,

I could say, “Hey, here’s how to do it,” but I don’t recommend that you actually do the redirects yourself unless you’re technical.

I did this with my own website, iamvashif.com/uk.

I made a mistake with my 301 redirects, and you know what? I eventually fixed it, but my traffic didn’t bounce back.

It went to 90% of where it was.

It took roughly three months to recuperate most of the traffic.

The point I’m trying to make is one little glitch or mess-up can really hurt your traffic.

Tool 1- AhrefsWebsite Traffic

Number one, ahrefs.com. Ahrefs is a tool that you can use. You put in a competitor URL and it’ll show you where they get their search traffic from.

So one of my competitors is searchenginewatch.com.

I put it in there, I go into the sidebar, I click on their organic traffic, and it will show me all the pages that they’re getting traffic from, and the keywords that are driving them.

What are their most popular pages is on SEO Basics. So I take this page, I click through, I go to their website, I now can create similar content for my website.

And I know that this page is getting a ton of Google traffic and, if I write a better post than theirs and then I email out all the people that are linking to them because Ahrefs also shows you all the backlinks that webpage has and who’s linking to them, it will get you more links and increase your rankings.

So that’s the first tool that you can use to draw your traffic.

Tool 2- BuzzsumoSocial Media Traffic

The second tool is Buzzsumo. Ahrefs is great to increase your Google traffic.

Buzzsumo, on the other hand, is great to increase your social traffic.

Let’s say you type in online marketing.

It’ll show you all the popular posts based on social shares to get traffic from Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.

Now, you can take these articles and write better ones.

So there’s a tech cruncher article that talks about how Google Analytics ruined online marketing.

Well, you can talk about how Google Analytics saved online marketing, and you can break down in more detail how Google Analytics has made marketers’ lives easier and how it does wonderful stuff for marketers, saves companies money, and it’s an amazing tool.

Once you do that, you go to buzzsumo.com, you click on view shares, it shows you all the people that share that article on Twitter.

If you don’t have a paid Buzzsumo account, no worries.

Take that original tech crunch URL,

Go to the Twitter search feature,

type in that URL and it’ll show you all the people that tweeted it out.

You head up each of those people and you beg them for a tweet.

In essence, you’re Googling, trying to find their email, shooting them an email, trying to convince them to tweet out your article.

Tool 3- Google Search Console

The third tool is Google Search Console.

Once you add your site to Google Search Console, it’ll show you all the errors your site has, from 404 errors to pages not working right, to Ahrefs link issues.

Whatever it may be, Google will show you those issues and errors through Google Search Console.

Fix them.

It’ll take a long time.

Go through them one by one.

Fix them.

You’ll get more traffic.

Tool 4 – SEMrush

The next tool I have for you is SEMrush.

The cool part about SEMrush is, it shows you all the keywords that your competition is paying for.

So,

if you put in a competitor URL, such as amazon.com, it’ll show you all the paid keywords that Amazon is bidding for.

If they’re your competition, you know that if they’re continually paying money for these keywords, they drive traffic.

So you should go after these keywords as well.

Go After The Keywords Your Competitors Are Paying For

You can go after them from a paid perspective or an organic perspective.

Either way, you know they’re high conversing keywords.

Cause no one continually pays for keywords that they’re losing money on.

Tool 5- Uber Suggest

The fifth tool that you should start leveraging is called Ubersuggest.

So if you go to ubersuggest.io and you type in any phrase or keyword, it’ll give you a longer list of other relevant keywords that people are searching for.

It’s taking the data from Google Suggest.

What Google Suggest is, is when you type in a word or phrase within the Google search box, have you ever noticed that they give you other suggestions?

Those are suggestions based on popularity.

Ubersuggest breaks you down a whole list of them so you know to integrate those keywords within your content.

So, if you use those five tools, you’ll start generating more traffic today.

You can go to iamvashif.com/blog, you can go to moz.com/blog, you can go to searchengineland.com, and you can go to backlinks.

Those are four sites that will teach you about marketing.

They’ll give you all the information you need to know to learn Digital Marketing.

You should read these blogs daily.

They continually crank out new content.

This will help you keep on top of industry trends, because Google, Facebook, all these social media and ad platforms out there keep changing.

If you don’t stay on top, you’re going to get outdated, and you’re not going to do well as a marketer. 

Step 2-

Implement What You Are Learning?

Step number two, and this is really important, is to implement what you’re learning.

Now,

I don’t recommend that you implement what you’re learning in your own business if you’re starting off.

You should create a fake website, a site on anything.

You can go to WordPress.com, set up a site. 

It’s free. You can create a blog, and you can take these tactics and implement them on this free site that you created.

Eventually, you will learn what’s working and what’s not working.

Once you use a tactic, and you realize, “Hey, this is somewhat working,” you can then take that tactic and implement it in your business.

That’s how I’ve learned marketing. It’s through actually doing. Reading is one thing, but if you never implement it, you’ll never learn. 

Step-3

The third thing that you can do is go to neilpatel.com/seo-analyzer,and that’s a page where you put in a URL, and it will give you a report.

That report will show you what’s wrong with your webpage.

It’s free. You use that, it’ll break down what changes you need to make.

As your implementing and making these changes to your web pages, if you’re lost, you can use free tools like this or you can use paid tools like moz.com to get data on what changes you need to make to your website.

Or, you can use Google’s free tools, like Google Search Console, in which you can go there, add your site, and Google will tell you all the errors that they’re finding on your website.


You fix them.

Naturally, your site is going to increase in rankings.


It’ll take time before you see the results, but it works.

That’s how you learn marketing.

Hey Everyone, I’m Vashif, and today, I’m going to teach you how to set up your corporate blog correctly.

Step 1-

The first thing you need to do is figuring out what you want to blog about.

It’s not just about blogging about your product or service. If you do that, no one’s really going to read your blog.

But if you write about the problems that your ideal customer’s facing and how they can solve those problems, and some of it may be around your product, that’s fine, people will then read your blog.

Blogs Are Not About You. It’s About Helping Your Customer

It’s not about you, it’s about helping people. That’s the first thing you need to know about blogging.

Step 2-

The second thing is the URL. So whatever your blog is, you want to use WordPress and you want to set it up as yourdomain.com/blog. The reason you want to do this over a subdomain is subdirectories rank better than subdomains. Search engines like Google treat subdomain almost like a separate site. If your main site is already doing somewhat well, your blog is going to do better quicker just because it’s a subdirectory versus a subdomain. 

Step 3-

The next thing you need to do, once it’s set up, is you need to figure out who’s the voice of the blog.

Is it going to be many people?

Is it going to be one person?

Well, whoever it is, they should have their bio on the site.

Just because you’re a brand it doesn’t mean that the person who’s writing the post shouldn’t have their photo within the blog post, and a little snippet that talks about themselves, as well as maybe even a link to their Twitter or Facebook profile.

You should showcase their photo and one or two lines explaining who they are and what they do within the company.

Now that you have your staff writers, and yeah, you can do one or you can do many. If you do many, that’s fine, just use different authors.

You can set them up within WordPress, it’s really simple. Within the user’s profile tab you can just continually add authors.

Put in a username, put in an email for that person, and then, they’ll get notified that they have a WordPress account, and they can go in and then just start writing.

From there, you should create a rubric on what people should do when they’re writing their content, right? It’s a template.

In essence, you need to give these writers rules.

If you don’t give them rules, you’re going to have people writing all different kinds of things.

The first rule that you should create is.

The Content You Should Benefits Your Readers

If it doesn’t benefit the readers there’s the point in blogging.

Number two, they need to write in a tone using the words you and I.

In essence, it’s a conversational tone.

When you’re reading text, you don’t want it boring and monotone like this.

You want it conversational where I’m talking to you and you’re responding back to me, and we have a conversation going.

By using the words you and I within your blog post, you’ll get that. 

You also want to use subheadings. By using subheadings it makes your post easier to skim.

You also want to make sure that your paragraphs aren’t more than five or six lines, that way, people can digest the information really easily. 

You also want to wrap up every one of your posts with a conclusion.

At the end of the conclusion, you want to write a question.

Writing a question or asking a question more so, it’ll encourage people to respond, write comments.

When they write comments, you want to respond or the person who wrote that post needs to respond to each and every single person. 

Why? 

The last thing you want is someone asking your business a question and then you guys ignoring them.

That would be rude. You don’t want to do that. Make sure you respond to everyone.

If you do that and you cross-link within your blog posts, so if you write a blog post on SEO and another one on online marketing, make sure you cross-link them within the text.

As you do that, the post will get found and you have your corporate blog.

Give it time, six to 12 months, you’ll start getting results. Again, you have to be patient.

When I started my blog at iamvashif.com in January 2015, I had roughly 9,000 visitors a month from Google.

In January 2016, it went up to 88,000. In January 2017, it went to over 400,000. But that just shows it’s a long-term play.

When you’re creating your corporate blog, you have to crank out a lot of content. Ideally, 

Write a Minimum of 1 Blog Post Per Week, But Ideally, Write 3

three posts per week. If you do one, it’s not going to be too effective.

One at minimum, but don’t do one every two weeks or anything like that.

It has to be at least once a week, if not, three times a week, and you don’t need to do more than seven times a week. The moment you get over seven times a week, that’s just too much content.

Start off slow, and then increase from there.

Step 1 –


The first one is to go to Buzzsumo.com and put in a keyword.
Any keyword within your industry. Let’s say you put in marketing or online marketing.

That will show you all the popular posts within your space. They even break them down based on the last six months or year.

So that way, you’re seeing fresh content that people love. And they sort them based on social shares.

The ones that have the most social shares are the ones that people love the most.

That’s how you can get more ideas for your blog.

Just look at what’s working and write better versions of those posts.

As someone broke down 10 ways to get more traffic, you can then write 101 ways to get more traffic.

Or if someone wrote how to get rid of fleas on your dog, you can write an article on how to get rid of fleas on your dog, and cat, or parrot, or whatever animals have fleas.

Just writing more detailed content, is a great way to keep going and crank out new information that people still love, because if it’s done well on someone else’s site, chances are it will do well on your site as well as long as you’re in the same industry.

Step 2-

The second tactic is to go to Quora. Type in any keyword within your space, you’ll see a list of questions that people have.

The most popular ones are common questions.

If you take those questions and write blog posts around them, and you create really educational information, that not only answers that question but answers it better than anyone else, you’re going to have a ton of content. So much so, you’re going to have a lot of ideas that you won’t have writer’s block again.

And if you use a Quora idea, you can go as Quora, look up all the people who responded to that question, and you can even take your blog post, copy and paste it, and respond to it as well. I do that all the time and I generate hundreds and thousands of views on my Quora profile because of that.

I’m actually not writing unique content just for Quora, I’m actually taking my blog content and repurposing it on Quora. So not only did I give you two ways to avoid writer’s block today, but I also taught you how to generate more traffic from Quora.

It is pretty simple to locate if you have Google Analytics enabled.

How to Decrease Your Bounce Rate.

Step 1-

The first thing you need to do is show your product or content first.

If people are coming to your site because you’re an eCommerce product, make sure you showcase your products.

If they’re coming to your site because you are service-oriented, or an informational site, make sure you showcase the text first.

I used to do it wrong, my blog, I would showcase my opt-ins, and then you would have to scroll down beneath the fold before you got to the content, but you know what happened, my bounce rate was high.

The moment I removed these opt-ins and these ads above the fold, and I showcased the product or the content first, my bounce rate went down.

Step 2-

Make sure your text size is large enough. What I’ve found is when your text size is really small it increases your bounce rates, hard for people to read, especially if they’re mobile devices.

Step 3-

Make your web pages very minimalistic. If you go on my website, you’ll notice that I have way too much stuff going on. Over the years I’ve decreased it, but I still need to do a better job of getting rid of a lot of my sidebar elements.

I did a test where I just showcased the content before the blog post, and we do this on the crazy egg blog.

So if you go to crazyegg.com/blog and look at some of the blog posts, you’ll notice that we just showcase the content.

Why do we do this?

Because it’s decreased the bounce rate versus having big sidebars, with all these calls to action, just giving readers or visitors what they want first is a great way to decrease the bounce rate.

Step 4-

The next thing you need to do is cross-link. The moment you link within the content to other pages of your website, you’ll notice that people will start spending their time going through your whole site versus just bouncing off that page.

After that, make sure your ad is in images. Images are visually appealing, it keeps people there.

The images could be an image, or it coulda be video, or it could be an audio file, in essence, it’s another type of content that’s not text-based, that keeps people engaged, that’ll decrease your bounce rate.

If you do those things, people will stick on your website longer, your bounce rate will go down, and you’ll rank higher in Google over time.

One of the best solutions to lower your bounce rate is to publish high-quality content, which has the added bonus of increasing your overall site traffic.

What I want to focus on today are quick, easy ways you can decrease your bounce rate in the next week.

Throughout all this, I haven’t tackled one big question many people have about bounce rate:

Why does bounce rate matter?

Particularly considering so many factors can affect bounce rate, is it really something we should worry about?

The answer is a resounding yes.

Bounce rate is one of the factors Google looks at when it’s deciding where to rank your website.

Bounce rate can also give you insight into whether your customers are finding what they are looking for or what they expect when they come to your website.

Site owners should be more concerned with user experience than with what is technically considered a ranking factor.

By implementing the strategies I laid out above, you will be able to lower your bounce rate, improve your ranking, and better serve the people who come to your website.

That is a win-win-win.

How to Write a Blog Post People Actually Want to Read?

So if you’re going to write a blog post, there are few things that you need to know.

Step 1- You and I

Write with the words “you” and “I”. If you don’t include the words “you” and “I”, people aren’t going to feel that it’s a conversation.

If they don’t feel that it’s a conversation, they’re going to think of it as, like, a college lecture, and they are going to leave.

When you’re more conversational with people, they are more likely to engage, read, and respond.


Step 2- More than 5 and 6 Paragraphs

Your paragraphs can’t be more than five or six lines.

The moment they’re more than five or six lines, it’s just overwhelming.

People don’t want to go through that.

If you look at iamvashif.com, you’ll even notice that a lot of my paragraphs are only two or three lines.

I even have some paragraphs that are only one line.

Step 3- Use SubHeadings

Subheadings break down sections within your blog post, so it makes it easier to skim.

Without subheadings, people won’t be able to get the gist of your content without reading the whole thing, which means you’re going to get fewer readers.

Through subheadings, people can go down to the section of the blog post that they want to read, and read that area, and keep scrolling through.

Step 4- Write an Every Blog Conclusion

Make sure you use a conclusion,

Right?

Write a conclusion every time you create a blog post.

And label that conclusion, “conclusion”. It keeps it really simple.

People can scroll down, read your conclusion, know what your blog post is about, and decide if they want to scroll back up and read the rest.

I know that sounds weird, but that is actually is the visitor/reader pattern when they’re scrolling through and reading your blog post.

A lot of people go down, read the conclusion, then go back up.

Step 5- Information

With your blog posts, make sure you cite your information.

Don’t just come up with the facts and data without citing them.

If you do that, people are going to call B.S.and not come back.

Step 6- Use Relevant Photo

Use photos. As they say, “A picture says a thousand words.”

If using graphics and images to explain the message that you’re trying to convey, people are much more likely to read and stick around.

Step 7- Thorough and Actionable

Make sure your article is really thorough and actionable.

If someone reads your article and they’re like, “Oh, cool, I know I can go do something after reading this,” they’re going to be like, “Great, I should keep reading the content.”

I once googled “how to install a bidet”, and I came up with an article that didn’t even teach me how to install a bidet.

Never went back to that site.

And that site is called

“How Stuff Works”.

Their articles weren’t informative, weren’t actionable, so I was never going to read them.

If you follow those tactics, you’re going to create blog posts that people actually want to read.

The short answer is yes.

The reason you see them even though you hate them is that they work. People wouldn’t keep pop-ups on the site unless it was converting. 

Now, I know Google’s changed their algorithm, in which they have stated, “If you use pop-ups that are too intrusive, especially on mobile devices …” And I bet eventually they’ll do this with desktop, “you’re going to lose search traffic.” You know what, all the sites that I use my pop-ups on, my sites, my buddies’ sites like TimothySykes, we still use mobile pop-ups and our traffic hasn’t gone down.


Why?


Because we don’t show the pop-ups right when someone comes to the site.


We wait for them to be on the site for at least 20-30 seconds, and right before they’re going to leave, that’s when we show them a popup.


In essence, it’s the last dish effort to get them to put in their name or email or buy something.
Pop-ups still work if you use them upon someone leaving your website.


That’s called exit intent. So when someone’s leaving, that’s when you show them a pop-up.


You can use the tool Hellobar, which is free,Hellobar.com, to create an exit popup. You can do pop-ups that take up the whole screen or part of the screen.

The ones that take up the whole screen tend to do the best. If you go to the IamVashif.com blog and you’re a first-time visitor, if you’re not you can go visit the site in an incognito window, you move your mouse cursor out as you’re leaving, you’ll notice there’s a popup that takes up the whole screen.


That’s called a page takeover. It converts extremely well.


Why?


The last-ditch effort with a compelling offer.


Now,

if you’re going to create a popup, don’t just create something that says, “Subscribe to my newsletter,” or, “Buy now.” You have to do something that gives value.


Someone’s leaving your website because they didn’t get what they’re looking for.


So if you don’t give them something really valuable, you’re not going to get them to convert.


Whether it’s an eBook or a guide, or a PDF, or a white paper, it has to be something of value.

If you’re an eCommerce company, a 10% off coupon or a free shipping offer, right?


That’s something that you can do within your exit popup. So think about what your visitors want that you’re not providing, and consider providing that in the exit popup, and you’ll notice that you’ll get more sales.

So they still work, use them. Don’t show them when someone first comes to your website.


Only show them when someone’s leaving your website. That’s how you don’t hurt your Google rankings, and at the same time, you can get more conversions

If you go to https://iamvashif.com/blogs/, you’ll notice as you scroll and if you’re on the page for the first time, you’ll notice that a bell pops up in the bottom right corner.


And that bell after you’re there for, let’s say 20, 30 seconds, it will not only move, but it will also make a ringing noise. It’s drawing you into that area of my website so you know to go there, click on it, and then fill out whatever I’m, let’s say trying to pitch you or sell you.

That is my number one current converting area on iamvashif.com.


Why?


Because I use sound. I tried using a bell and alert notification without the sound. It didn’t work well.

So why is sound so effective? It’s because no one’s really using it on their website these days.

Remember back in the day, in the ’90s, you would see all these websites putting music and sound throughout their website, not ones really doing that.

And because no one’s doing it, when you add sound into your website now, it draws attention.


You just don’t want to put music and sound anywhere. Instead, you want to put sound into the areas you want people to focus on. I put it into a bell, and I did this using hellobar.com. It’s a free tool.


Through Hello Bar, you can create a free alert notification. As you’re going and setting it up through the what you will notice is you can pick the color of the bell.

You can even pick what you show when someone clicks on it. From there, you can put your call to action and conversions in there, and it only shows up for the first time someone comes to your website.

So, if they keep coming back, it doesn’t keep digging and making noises, so it doesn’t irritate them. You’ll notice you’ll get more sales. It’s a quick win that you can place on your blog.

It’s really easy to do. It’s free. And I kid you not, it accounts for most of my conversions compared to any other thing that I have tested out.


Sure, other elements may collect more emails or more visitors, but this converts more visitors into customers than anything else on my blog.

Without doing that, I wouldn’t connect.

As you can see, because I’ve connected with people within a 30-second video, you’ll notice that there are hundreds and hundreds of comments on that page.

Now, the funny thing is, is if you scroll all the way to the bottom and in the bottom right you click a flag, right?


Instead of a US flag, you click on the Portuguese or Brazil flag, or whatever it may be, you’ll notice the about page in different languages.


I also connect with people in different languages.
A video, even though that video is transcribed, in essence, it’s translated with subtitles, it still has hundreds of comments.


Why?


Because I’m creating that emotional connection.
That’s the power of storytelling. It doesn’t matter what language someone speaks, if you can create amazing stories and connect with people, then they’ll be engaged, they’ll continually come back, they’ll be loyal.
As they’re loyal, what you’ll notice is they’ll tell other people about your business, they’re more likely to buy products and services from you.


Just like how you’re loyal with, let’s say, Amazon or Facebook or Google, right? No one really uses Bing.
They have really good results as well.


But, you’re more connected to Google, because it’s been around longer, you know it works, and they don’t have a ton of stuff going on within their web pages.


That’s why people started using Google, it was a clean, simple search engine, with amazing results. 

Step 1-


Now, with your about page, you need to doa few things.
One, we mentioned doing storytelling, so that shows you connect with people.
Stories go down from generation to generation.


Step 2-


Talk About How You Are Going To Help The Visitor

The next thing you need to do is not just talk about your business, but you need to talk about how you’re going to help the visitor who’s coming to your website.
If you don’t help them, there’s no point for them to stick around.
It’s not about you, it’s about them. Always put other people before yourself. 

Step 3- 

The third thing you need to do is be very impactful.
What I mean by being impactful is, you need to connect by using adjectives, words that convey emotionpower words, right?
When you do this, you’re more likely to connect with people versus just using text that’s boring.
That’s why if you look at my story, I talk about how my goal’s to help people who aren’t making that much money, people who are starting off, because I started that way, right?
I’m conveying that throughout the messaging. 

Step 4- 

You also want to keep it short, that’s the fourth thing.
If it’s too long if your about page has more than 500 words, or it is more than let’s say a two-minute video clip, you’re going on too much and you’re going to get a big drop-off. 

Step 5- 

The fifth thing you need to do is leave an action point.
Most people on their about page, just say, “Hey, this is me and that’s cool, check it out.” Well,
what is there to do after people read it?
Should they check out your products?
Should they check out your services?
Should they leave a comment?
Give them some direction. By doing that, they’re more likely to connect and go from being a visitor or a reader into a customer.

Now, there’s one really simple way to do this. It’s called the Yoast SEO plugin. I could tell you, Go. Go make all these on-page changes and do this or that, but you know what, these days, SEO is really simple especially if you have a WordPress blog. 

Install the Yoast SEO plugin. All you have to do is go to the plugins section within your WordPress. Search for the Yoast SEO plugin, install it and then, you’re off to the races. There are a few things you need to do once you install the plugin. 

Step 1-

The first thing that you need to do is create an XML sitemap. That’s within the Yoast plugin. It automatically generates it for you. Once you create a sitemap, go to Google webmaster tools, and then within Webmaster Tools, it’s actually called search console now. I still call it Webmaster Tools because back in the day, that’s what they used to call it. Once you add your site, go in there and add a sitemap. It’s really simple. You add in the URL that Yoast gives you. Once you add it, it takes Google, let’s say a day or two to index all of your pages. They’ll either determine if they want to index them or if they don’t want to index them and that’s okay. The more pages you feed them, the more pages that you’ll get indexed. In addition to that, within the Yoast plugin, it pretty much does most of it for you. Just make sure you use a really appealing title tag and a meta description. The title tag doesn’t have to be the same as your blog post title. With the Yoast plugin, you can actually pick a specific title tag for that post.

It doesn’t have to be the same title tag as the blog post name. That’s what happens with default WordPress. If you write a blog post, whatever you call it tends to be the title tag but now with Yoast, you can pick a new one. When you do a Google search, you see a bluelink at the top and then a sentence or two underneath. The blue link at the top is called a title tag. The sentence or two underneath is called a meta description. With that title tag up top, you can create a specific one just for people Googling. You want to put in the keywords that you think people will be Googling for and of course, make it appealing as well. You can use keywords like now, try, free, or even include the date. By doing things like that, it causes more click-throughs. When you’re including the date, you’d want to put the date that is written in. You would want to put a date like updated in 2021 or updated in 2022, whatever the year maybe. By doing that, you’ll get more clicks. As for the meta description, you, of course, want to include the keywords that you’re targeting, as well as make it an appealing sentence so that way, people will want to click on your listing. It’s that simple. I can go and break down a ton of other ways that you can optimize your blog using the Yoast plugin but those are the main two ways. The only thing that you need to do on your end is when you’re writing blog posts, make sure you cross-link. If you have a post on SEO and you have another one on content marketing and that content marketing one talks about text and putting in keywords, you can cross-link them together. By interlinking them within the text within each blog post, you’ll notice that your blog posts will get crawled better, and they’ll rank higher. You also want to make sure you use the right words and phrases as you’re writing the content. If you’re trying to rank for the keyword SEO, Google the word SEO. Look at the top site that ranks for SEO. Put it in the tool by SEO book. It’s called the SEO book keyword density analyzer. You put in the URL and I’ll show you all the words and phrases people are using that already ranked at the top. When you get those words and phrases, you’ll see them by percentage. You can then integrate some of those keywords within your blog post and you’ll notice over time, your rankings will increase. That’s it. Do those tactics and you’ll rank higher in google.

The more people looking for my brand, it shows google, hey, this brand is popular. If a brand is popular, what do they do? They rank you higher. I used to rank on page two for the key term”online marketing” and now I rank on page one. There’s only one key difference. My content didn’t change. I didn’t generate more backlinks. All that happened was more brand signals.

That causes people to google my name, click on my result, and it shows Google that hey, this brand is popular.

When a brand is popular, Google naturally places it higher. Now granted, if you artificially inflate your brand signals and it goes down afterward, your rankings will drop as well.

But if you can keep creating Good Content, Video, Audio, whatever it may be, offer an amazing product or service, people will keep coming back and typing in your brand name. 

That’s a key to longevity. Here’s why they do this: 

Let’s say you take BMW and General Motors. 

They both produce cars, but how should Google know which site to rank higher?
Sure, on-page SEO?
Maybe backlinks?
Well, after a site has millions of backlinks, does it matter? No. But if three times more people type in the one-car brand over the other, it shows Google that everyone prefers a specific car brand, so it should rank higher for the term cars. That’s why brand signals are really important. Continually try to build your brand. I once had a client called LICRaebareli.com and they’re like, “Vashif, we want more backlinks, we want more traffic. We want to do content marketing. How can you help us?” I remember I was talking to the owner and he’s just like, “Yeah, it’s really hard. I don’t think you can write anything that going to go viral on life insurance.” I’m like, “You may think so, but I disagree with that.” He’s like, “All right, give it a go.” I started doing some research. I went to sites like Reddit. I typed in terms like, “Life insurance.” Quickly realized, nothing really interesting on Reddit about life insurance, but I started typing in related terms around life insurance such as, “Money. Death,” and then I found a ton of ideas. One of the ideas was about things you didna know about death. I was like, “Hmmm, let’s take this concept and expand upon it.
” I created an article called, “20 Things you didn’t Know About Death.” One of the interesting facts was when someone dies, they’re actually conscious for another 10 to 20 seconds. That’s one example of one of the 19 things you didn’t know about death, right?
Just think about that.

Let’s say I want to create an Instagram profile about me, IAmVashif. I will create an amazing description. I will do something like IamVashif, Helping You Build Your Audience on Google, Actually Get Client. short simple, to the point. Give people a reason to follow you. Your description should also match the type of content that you’re going to post on your page. That way, people know who they’re going to be following and why.

Step 2=
Once you’ve done that, make sure you create amazing beautiful images. If the images aren’t good, you’re not going to do well. I don’t care what kind of marketing gimmicks you run. You’re not going to do well unless your photos are amazing. That’s the beauty of Instagram. You can see what’s done well in the past. Just search using hashtags or keywords and you’ll see all the photos within your space that have done well. The more visual the photo is, the better off you are.

Step 3=
In addition to that, you need to post consistently. If you post once a week, you’re going to get more likes for photos and that’s what everyone wants, right, but what you’ll also notice is that you’re not growing your follower account fast enough. You’re better off if you post once to twice a day.

Post Once To Twice A Day On A Consistent Schedule-

Keep a consistent schedule. Make sure that if you post every day at 10:00 a.m., you keep up with it. If you also want to post at night time like 6:00 p.m., do it twice a day, 10:00 a.m., 6:00 p.m. Those are two good time slots that work well.

Use A Long Image Description-

In addition to that, use a long description. Anytime you add a photo to Instagram, you’re able to add some text. The more thorough your text is, when people do searches on Instagram, the more people will find your photo. You can also add hashtags. Use a handful of hashtags for your photo. I know some people go overboard and they like adding like 30 hashtags per photo. I think that’s a bit crazy and tacky. I don’t like doing that but if you want to add 5 or 10, not a problem, right?

Use Between Five and Ten Hashtag Per Photo-

It’s better than using zero so roughly use between five and 10 hashtags.


Step 4=
Best of all, make sure you follow 30 people per hour. You can technically follow more people per hour but then, it gets too spammy and you’re going to hit Instagram filters.

Instead, follow 30 people within your space per hour or 30 people that interest you. As you do that, you’ll notice that a lot of people will follow you back. As they follow you back and you start posting new photos, not only will you get more likes but you also get more comments.

When you get more comments, make sure you respond to people. The more people you engage with and respond with, the more likely it is that they’re going to share your photos with other people. One cool thing that you can also do as you have more followers is when you add a picture, let’s say if it’s of a destination, you can do things like tag a friend that you love to go to Hawaii with. Let’s say you’re in Hawaii and you put a beautiful picture of Hawaii, right? That will cause other people to tag more people, so more people will see your photos and that will cause you to get more followers. It’s that simple. So, How do you Consistently Create Viral Content?

Well, it’s really simple.
The first thing you need to do is go to Google.com/trends and type in keywords and phrases within your space, and they’ll show you what’s popular. On Google Trends, their homepage, you’ll also see what’s going viral right then and there. If you write content related to those pieces or those topics, you’ll notice that your content will get more traction than if you wrote on something that happened a year ago, six months ago.

Write About Viral Content of Today for Best Results-

So, you want to catch the wave right when something is going viral. And Google Trends will show you that for free. The next thing you need to do, especially if you’re in a niche, is going to Buzzsumo.com and type in keywords related to your space.


They’ll show you the latest viral content that’s been doing well in the last few months and the last year. Write similar content that’s more detailed. So, if someone wrote an article that breaks down 10 ways to do X, Y, and Z, you want to make sure you break down 101 ways to do X, Y, and Z. Because if their post did well, and your post is way more detailed, you can expect your content to go viral.


As I mentioned in previous videos, once you write very detailed content that’s better than someone else’s, using BuzzSumo, you can click on view sharers, see everyone who’s shared that piece of content on Twitter, hit them up, right? You can take their Twitter user IDs, go to Twitter, Google their names, find their email address, I know it’s a bit of work, but anything worthwhile requires some work.

Then, you can message them like, “Hey, John. I noticed you shared this article by Sam from IT World. That broke down how Google Analytics screwed online marketing. And I have a similar article that’s coming out, but mine talks about:
“How Google Analytics has Helped Marketing.”
Cheers, Vashif.”
John will probably respond back with sure.
Then, you want to email him back with,

One of the main factors that affect rankings is the click-thru rate. If you do a search, let’s say you do a search for dogs. Google notices that everyone’s clicking on the second listing instead of the first listing, what are they going to do? 

They’re Going to Flip Them Around

Why?

Because you’re using user signals. These user signals tell them what users prefer. If all the users prefer the second listing, and Google keeps that listing at number two, what’s going to happen with the users? They’re going to feel that Google results aren’t that relevant, and they’re going to use another search engine. So if you want to increase your rankings without building links, you can increase your rankings by creating a more appealing title and description.

Create More Appealing Titles and Mata Description-

That title and that description that you’re seeing in organic results are made up through a title tag and a meta description. You can have your webmasters change those for you. Now the way you want to create amazing title tags and meta descriptions is by using phrases and words in there that people want to click. You can do this by using words like

fast,
free.

In Your Title Add The Year To Make It Current For Readers

You can also use phrases and words like the date. A lot of times, I put updated in 2021 and it causes me to get more clicks than the listings above me. And eventually, over a period of a month or two, my listings climb up, and it outranks theirs. So use those phrases. If you’re unsure of what phrases to put in your title tag and meta description, Google the phrases you want to rank for, look for all the paid ads. See, with Google AdWords, one of their main factors that determine where an ad should be placed is not only just the bid but it’s appealing the ad copy is.

Interesting Ad Copy Helps To Generate Ranking Over Bids

Because if one person spends $5 per click with Google, and another person spends $2.50 with Google, but the person who’s spending $2.50 gets three times the more clicks because their ad copy is more appealing, Google’swant to place that $2.50 ad above the $5 one because they make more money.
One gets three times more clicks.
That would be $7.50 versus $5. They look at the total revenue amount. That means that a person that’s spending $2.50, which is at the top, typically has the more appealing ad copy.
So when you’re looking at the paid Google results, the ones at the top typically have the best title and description. Make sure you use similar titles and descriptions with your free listings, so that way you can climb in the organic rankings.

I’m going to teach you how to do SEO in a competitive industry when you have no money. The first thing you want to do is start doing roundup posts. With your website, make sure there’s a blog. If you don’t have a blog, just go to WordPress.com OR .org and add a blog to your site. Once you have a blog, go and interview every single expert within your space. I’m in the marketing niche so I can Google things like top marketers, top marketing influencers, top SEOs. I can create a list of them. It’s easy. There are so many blogs out there. I just have to hit up all the marketing blogs and I just say, Hey, John. This is Vashif. I’m a huge fan of your work, so much so that I want to include you in my roundup post. Now, what a roundup post is, it’s asking all the influencers within your space opinion. In essence, you’re asking them the same question, you’re seeing what everyone in your space thinks about that one question. Let’s say your question is about how to get rid of dog hair and you’re in the pet space and you’re trying to figure out, all right, what’s the best way to get rid of dog hair all over my furniture, my clothes, et cetera? Once you get all of the responses, create a blog post about it, make sure you link over back to their website. Include their face, their image within that blog post, and then once it’s released, e-mail them back and ask them to share the content.

Ask Your Influencer to Share Your New Blog Post

It’s a great way to get more social shares. When you get more social shares, you get more visitors. The more visitors you get to your website, a portion of them may even link to you. As the link to you and you get more social shares, your rankings will climb. That’s why a lot of people are doing roundup posts, not only because it’s great for the webmaster, the website owner, right, it’s also great for the influencers that you interviewed because it gets them more free press. Of course, they’re willing to share on all their social profiles like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, et cetera.

The next thing you can do if you’re trying to get more search traffic is Google SEO book keyword density. They have a free tool. Just put in the URL of all your competitors who rank for a specific keyword that you want to rank for. Did you get that keyword? Let’s say that keyword is SEO. You look for all the websites that rank on page one for SEO, you put in that URL and what it does is it shows you all the key phrases that they’re using on their website and the density.

The more they use a specific phrase, the more it tells Google that that’s what the page is about but you probably already know about keyword density. I’m not telling you to shove your content with tons of keywords over and over again. Instead, what I’m telling you to do is be thorough. What Google likes doing, and you’ll notice this, is the more thorough the page, the more in-depth that they go on a topic, the higher that web page ranks even if they have fewer backlinks and fewer social shares than someone else because of course, Google wants to rank the page that provides the most value to the user.

Be More Thorough and In-Depth Then the Competitor

If you look at all the key phrases that people are using who rank on page one and you include some of those keywords within your web page and you’re really thorough and you go more in-depth than everyone else, you’ll notice that over time, your rankings will climb higher.

Google Key Phrase You Want To Rank For Organically

Now, the last tip that I have for you, and this one’s really simple, is Google whatever key phrase that you want to rank for organically. Let’s say you’re in the hotel space and you want to rank for a term like cheap Las Vegas hotels. Now, there’s a ton of people bidding on that term in that 30% right? The top and the bottom are all the paid ads. The middle portion where the majority of the traffic is, are all the free listings. What you want to do is look at all of their titles for their ads. See, Google AdWords, which is the paid version, they base the rankings on where you are in the paid rankings based on how much you spend per click going to your website and how appealing your ad is. The more appealing the ad copy, the more clicks it’ll receive. The same thing goes with organic. You don’t have to pay to be there but the more appealing your title tag, right, your copy that you show Google and your meta description, the more clicks you’re going to get and the more clicks you’re going to get, the higher they’re going to rank you because if you Google cheap Las Vegas hotels and Google notices, right, they rank ten listings on each page that are organic and if they notice that everyone clicking on the second listing instead of the first organic listing, what are they going to do? Well, they’re going to be like, 

Hey, everyone prefers the second listing. We should place it above the first one. That all comes down to ad copy, right, but with organic listings, there is no ad copy. It’s the title tag and meta descriptions. The more appealing that copy is, the more clicks you’re going to receive. Go into your HTML, ask your webmaster to help you out, or just Google how to change your title tag or how to change your meta description and you can just go in there and then, make it more appealing so more people want to click on it.

Create Compelling Title Tag and Meta Descriptions

Now, some quick tips to make your title tag more appealing, consider using the date like the year within your title tag. Update it in 2020 or update it in 2021, whatever the year is. Also, use adjectives. 

Adjectives make people want to click. I’ve also learned that using words like

Try, 

Free, also increased click-throughs so test some of those words and phrases within your title tag and meta description. You should see that you’re going to get more traffic, more clicks, and your rankings will climb even if you’re in a competitive industry and you can’t spend the money that these big corporations are spending.

Mesothelioma and legal-related keywords are lucrative, but who wants to blog about that stuff? It’s boring. And if you don’t love what you’re going to do, you’re going to eventually quit. First is your headline. Your headline has to be appealing. Go to Copyblogger. They have this headline formula. They’ll teach you how to write persuasive headlines. They even give you a formula and a tool that you just have to plug and play keywords in there, and you’ll be able to create cool headlines from that. Now that you got your headline, outline what your post is going to be about. 

Outline Your Post Before Writing – 

Just think about those high school days where you think, write the introduction, you write the body, and then the conclusion. The body has subheadings, so just write your introduction, write the conclusion, add in your subheadings, and then fill the rest out. That’s how you get started with writing your first blog post. When you’re writing your first blog post, each paragraph can’t be more than five or six lines. If it’s more than five or six lines what’s going to happen is it’s going to be too overwhelming for people. No one wants to read a 10 line paragraph. It’s just too much. Also, use the words you and I within your blog post. That way it’s like a conversation. People will interact, engage with you, and then they’ll leave comments.


Why?

Question Create Reader Engagement – 

Because your content is engaging. You can also ask a question at the end of your conclusion, which will help create more engagement because that will spur more people to leave comments. And when they leave a comment, respond to them. Don’t be a prick. If someone asked you a question in person, you would respond to them. Do the same with your blog. Once you got your blog post out, you of course want to link to people within your blog post to back up the main points you want to make any other cool blogs that you think would benefit your readers. Once you figure that out, you want to start doing this consistently.

Write a Minimum f One Blog Per Week- 

Write at least one post a week, but ideally, you should be blogging three times a week. Over six months to a year, you’ll build up a big base of readers. As you build up a base of readers you can use a tool called subscribers.com and hellobar.com. They’re free. Hello, Bar offers email subscriptions where someone can subscribe to your blog by just entering in their email and get notified every time you release a new blog post. Subscribers let people know as they’re browsing around on their computer in the browser that, hey, you got a new blog post, and they should go back to your site. So the people will start to keep coming back to your site. Then from there, you can monetize in a few ways. 

Setup Google Adsense-

One you can put Google Adsense. It’s a quick way to make money from Google in which they’ll pay you every time someone clicks on one of your ads. You can also use affiliate links. There are sites out there like clickbank.com in which they’ll let you promote products and services within your space, and every time you generate a sale for someone else you’ll get paid a commission. That’s called affiliate marketing. That’s a really simple way to start making money from your blog. 

Sell Your Products and Services –

The third way and this is my favorite, is why not sell your products or services. Let’s say you have a site about fashion. You can actually do let’s say a box where they get mailed fashion tidbits, or they get mailed fashion items once a month, and you can charge a premium for that. That’s a quick way to make money. It’s kind of like Birchbox. Or you can sell a guide or an e-book about men’s fashion or how to be swag on a budget. Whatever it may be, you can sell an ebook literally for $5, $9, whatever it may be. This will all start generating your income. And if you want, you can do a mixture of everything. As you do this from the ads to the affiliate marketing to selling your products, you’ll notice that over time your income will group.

Just be patient and give it a good six months to a year before you start making any decent money from your blog. Just like anything worthwhile it takes time.

Write Your Blog Post in a Conversational Tone

The first thing you need to do is write your blog post in a conversational tone. Use the words, you and I. No one likes being talked at. Just think about going to a high school class or your college classes, what do you do? If you paid attention, awesome. Me, I went to sleep a lot of times. Why? My professors were boring.
But the ones that had a conversation with me, I stayed awake, I listened, I learned. With your blog, use the words, you and I, within your text. It’ll seem like you’re creating a conversation instead of talking at your readers.

Once you do that, you want to engage with them by making your posts skim-able. Use subheadings within your blog post and break up the text, so that way it’s easier to read. At most, you don’t want to place more than five or six lines per paragraph. If you have more than five or six lines, it becomes overwhelming, people aren’t going to find it easy to read.

Then you want to wrap up your post with a conclusion. By wrapping up with a conclusion, it gives them a summary of what they should have learned. In that conclusion, end it with a question. The reason you end it with a question, such as, “Do you know of any other creative ways to turn blog readers into customers?” That creates engagement. It causes other people to leave a comment.


When someone engages with you, and then you respond to their comment, you’re building that connection. When you build a connection with people, what are they likely to do? They’re way more likely to turn into a customer. That’s what you want to do, engage with your readers.
You do that by using, you and I, making your blog posts skim-able, and leaving a question at the end so that you get more comments. When you get those comments, don’t leave them stranded, respond to them.

Respond to all Questions on Your Website to help Drive Seles-

That’s like being in a group conversation and someone asking you a conversation, and then you just turning to the side and be like, “Oh, I’m going to ignore them.” That would be rude.
To respond to the comments.
You also want to link to your products and services within your blog post. You may even want to create blog posts that are case studies and talk about the results people are getting by using your products and services. By doing those things, you’re going to generate more customers.

Today, I’m going to teach you what backlinks are and how they work. Moz SEO company interviewed tons of marketing experts, and they asked them what factors affect Google’s rankings the most? 

They all said backlinks. So, with backlinks, that’s one website linking to another website. Google’s looking at it as votes. The more links that your website has, the higher you’re gonna rank. In addition to that, they’re looking at quality. 

Remember Quality over Quantity

So, if Huffington Post links to you, that’s more effective than if Joe the plumber linked to you. And Google knows that it’s way harder to get a link from Huffington Post than it is to get a link from Joe the plumber. Now, another thing that they’re using within their algorithm is how related is that link? So, if Huffington Post links to your plumbing website, that’s actually not as effective compared to Joe the plumber linking to you. 

Look Relevant Backlink 

But, on the flip side, if Home Depot is linked to you, because it’s very relevant and they’re within your space, that’s way more effective than if Joe the plumber linked to you. So, a few things. Google is looking at how many backlinks you’re getting; how many you’re getting overtime because it has to be natural, they don’t want you to just go pay people to link to your website because they don’t like that, you shouldn’t pay for links; they’re looking at how related those websites are; and they’re looking at something called domain authority, that’s how authoritative that website is.

So, assume you’re getting tons of backlinks, you’re getting them from related websites and they have high domain authority. Domain authority is from a scale of 0 to100, 100 being like Google.comYoutube, a Facebook. And it works like on a Richter scale, right? A logarithmic scale, in which it’s way easier to go from 1 to 10 than it is to go from 10 to 20. So, if you can get a lot of backlinks, you can get them from relevant sites, and you can get them from authoritative sites that have high domain authority, your rankings are gonna climb. If you’re wondering what domain authority is, like what number a certain site has, you can go to ahrefs.com, put in a URL and they’ll spit out the domain authority. It’s a paid tool. A free version of this is Open Site Explorer. If you Google ‘Open Site Explorer, it’ll take you to moz.com, and you can put in a URL and it’ll tell you that site’s domain authority. Now that you know how links work in the eyes of Google, if you want to get links the quickest way is to do round-up posts. So, go and email every single expert within your space. And I’ve discussed this in one of my past blogs, you can go into the description, click on the link and you can get to the past blogs where I talk about round-up posts. You can email these people, include them in their round-up posts; and since you’re asking them one question and you’re asking that same question to every expert within the space, it’s a great opportunity for them to get free press, which is why they’re gonna participate. And then once they all participate, and give you their response, write an amazing-looking blog post showcasing all the responses, including their name, link to their website, link to their Twitter or Facebook profile. And then from there, email each of those experts, once you’ve published the post, and ask them to share it on their favorite social network. By doing this, your blog, your website, is gonna get more traffic. The more eyeballs that see your site, the higher probability that someone’s gonna link back to your site. As you get more backlinks, your rankings will also climb.

So think about what kind of industry you’re in, and figure out what kind of problem that you can solve for people. Once you’ve figured out your problem, use your branding and hammer down your solution. The moment you can keep feeding your solution down everyone’s mouth, eventually, they’ll know that, hey, your company does this one specific thing. Want to buy anything affordable and get it delivered to you fast, you go to Amazon. It’s that simple. Why? Because they push that messaging down everywhere, and that’s how you build a big company. Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, they’re not going to be the main source of your revenue, your brand is. And that’s what lasts in the long run. I remember I was talking to my business partner mike one day, and Mike was like, “Hey, did you hear about Warren Buffett’s yearly letter to all of his companies?” Because he’s invested in a ton of companies. He writes a simple one-page letter. Why? Because he knows that if he writes five or six pages, these CEOs are too busy to read them. He always mentions to these companies that when you’re in a tough position and you have to either choose more money or protecting your brand, go with protecting your brand, because, in the long run, that’s what will create a bigger company.
If Warren Buffett tells you that branding is really important and you should focus on that more than the dollars that you could make in the short run then that should be enough for you to go out there and try to build an amazing and big brand.

Now, if you want to measure how big your brand is, go to Google.com/trends and type in your company name. If Google doesn’t show any results, that means your brand’s small. If they’re starting to show some results, and it’ll be in a graph format, you can see if it’s flat, if it’s climbing or declining. That’ll tell you how good you’re doing from a brand perspective. Your goal should be to get that to continue climbing up and to the right. That means that your brand is continually rising. Just look at IamVashif. If you type in IAMVashif into Google Trends, you’ll see my graph overall is climbing up and to the right. Sure, there are some huge spikes here and there, and that’s what happens when you get press or some mentions, or interviews, or magazines and stuff, or even TV stuff. But, overall, as long as it goes up and towards the right, you’re doing well. If not, that means you’re not doing enough marketing. If you feel you’re doing enough marketing, that means people aren’t connecting with it. You’re not using enough emotions. You’re not using enough storytelling. You’re not connecting with the people that are looking at your marketing or your advertisements.

You don’t need money to market your business. Today I’m going to teach you how you can market your website when you have no money to spend on advertising. The beautiful thing about the web is social media is free.
It doesn’t cost to be on there.

The second beautiful thing about the web is you can create content in any form. It can be video, it can be text, it can be audio like podcasts.
Creating these type of text formats or content and then pushing out on social media is a great way to get more traffic. If you’re trying to market your website and you don’t have any money to spend on advertising, here’s what you want to do.

Step 1 –

First, go to Quora and type in all the questions people within your space may have. You’ll start seeing tons of questions and popular ones that are getting a lot of votes. Go into those questions, answer them. By helping people out you’ll notice that more people will see who you are, they’ll come back to your website, and then they’ll purchase.
It really is that simple. You go to my Quora page on I Am Vashif, you’ll notice that I’ve responded to hundreds of questions and I get hundreds and thousands of views on my Quora questions and my profile each and every single month. It’s a great way to leverage their traffic to generate traffic back to my website and sales. Best of all, I don’t have to spend any money to do that.

Step 2 –

The second thing that you should be doing is posting your content on social media. You write a blog post. Post it on Twitter. You write another blog post. Again, post it on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. The possibilities are endless. Continually share your content everywhere. Do you know what I do? I write a blog post once on my website. Then I post the same content on LinkedIn. After adding a few paragraphs on LinkedIn say,
“Hey, click to continue reading the rest.” It makes them go back to my website to read the rest of the article. I also put a snippet on Twitter, because it only allows 140 characters, which causes people to come back to my site. So sharing your content on social media is another great way to get traffic.

Step 3 –

It’s that simple. To respond to people who are asking questions on Quora. Go to Twitter. Look for people who are asking about stuff within your field. So if someone’s asking about marketing-related stuff, I would go on Twitter and just respond to them in 140 characters. Heck, I can even link to my own website if I have content that also answers their question. It’s a great way to get more traffic. You know if you don’t have a popular Twitter profile, or you don’t want to use Quora, just google for forums within your space. So if you’re in the marketing space, just google marketing forum, F-O-R-U-M. You’ll see a list of forums. Go to them. Respond to questions that you can answer. In the footer of each of your forum responses is the signature link to your website.

This will get more visitors back to your site. More traffic means more sales.

Before you can get traffic from Google you need to first figure out what keywords should you try to get traffic from.

If you don’t know the right keywords, then you don’t know what to rank for or what to buy ads for, and if you get irrelevant traffic you’re not going to get any sales and you’re just going to be wasting your time and money. Today I’m going to teach you how to do keyword research in less than 60 seconds.

It’s really simple.
The first step, go to SEMrush.com, type in your main competitor, then scroll down, you’ll see top paid keywords. When you see that, that’s a list of all the keywords that they’re paying money for. If someone is continually paying money for a keyword, it means that it’s driving the traffic, and more importantly sales. That’s how you should determine what keywords to target. Now don’t just depend on one competitor. Go into SEMrush and type in your top three main competitors.

If you don’t have direct competitors type in your top three indirect competitors. \see what main keywords that they’re paying ad dollars for, and what’s driving their traffic, and those are the keywords you should be going after. If you notice that your top three competitors are going after the same key terms, it’ll tell you that those are the terms you should be targeting, ’cause if one, two, and three people are bidding on the same terms that means they all can’t be buffoons. That term must be making them money.

I’m Vashif, and today, I’m going to teach you how to get more Twitter traffic fast. There are two ways that you can get more Twitter traffic fast. Let’s go over the first way in case you’re lucky and you have a lot of followers like me. I have over 200,000. What you can do is if you’re like me, tweet10 times a day. I kid you not. Going from tweeting once a day to 10 times a day like sharing more than 10 articles from your website each and every single day for a whole month and you want to continually do that for a whole year.

Option 1-


Even if it’s old content from a year ago, you can keep sharing the same ones over and over again. Just go through all your old blog posts and put them in order. You can queue them up from Buffer and that way, you don’t have to go into Twitter each and every single day and share. When I was sharing one link from iamvashif.com on Twitter each and every single day, I receive roughly 1,100 visitors from Twitter in the whole month. When I started tweeting out 10 articles a day on Twitter, I received over 4,700 visitors. That’s a huge increase. I went from 1,100 to 4,700. In essence, if you want more traffic from Twitter, continually tweet out.

Option 2- 

It’s that simple. Now, if you don’t have followers, here’s a quick trick that you can use. Write a blog post on any topic. Make sure it’s amazing and good. It’s thorough, 2000 plus words, someone can read it. It’s actionable. They’re learning from it. If you do that, then people are going to be like, “This post is amazing, I won’t mind sharing it.” But that’s not the trick. What the trick is, is you go to Buzzsumo.com. Type in keywords related to the article that you just wrote. Buzzsumo will sort out all the similar articles and they’ll list out who wrote that and how many social shares it received and you can see every single person who tweeted out that article. Let’s say I’m writing an article on GoogleAnalytics and how it’s amazing. I may go to Buzzsumo, type in terms related to online marketing and see who else has written topics related to Google Analytics. There’s an article that you could see from TechCrunch. It’s on “How Google Analytics Screwed Up Marketing.” That article has thousands of social shares. I then can write a better article talking about “How Google Analytics Made the Lives of Marketers Better.” 

I can go into depth on how Google Analytics is amazing. People should be using it, tactics that they can get from using it. They can even go into depth on things like, how to analyze your Google Analytics data to optimize your ROI, especially on any paid marketing campaigns. Once you click on View Shares and you see every person who shared that article, you want to hit them up. Go to their Twitter profile, Google, and find their email, then you want to shoot them an email.

“Hey, John, this article that you shared this article by Sam from TechCrunch called ‘How Google Analytics Screwed Up Online Marketing’. I actually have an outer article that’s coming out, but mine discusses how Google Analytics has made better and of marketers, way better and it even talks about how businesses are getting a hot wasting because they’re not wasting money on marketing campaigns that aren’t producing any ROI. I’m covering A, B and C points that they don’t discuss. Let me know before it ant to check it before it goes live. Cheers, Vashif.” That’s it. Send off that one quick email. What you’ll notice is roughly 20% to 30% of the people will reply back saying, “Sure, I would love to see your article.” Once they reply, you want to email them back. 

“Hey John, here’s the article. Cheers, Vashif. P.S. If you shall itis article, not only will it make my day, it would make my year.” And that’s it. What you’ll notice is a lot of the people that you email that to will share your article out. Using those two tactics will get you more on Twitter.

You’ve heard of Google PageRank and you’ve heard of domain authority. If you want to grow your search engine rankings and sales, which one should you be focusing on?

I Am Vashif, and today I’m going to teach you why domain authority is more important than Google PageRank. s

Google PageRank is a number from zero to 10 and the algorithm for Google PageRank was created by one of their founders, Larry Page. The problem with Google PageRank is it doesn’t update frequently. Years and years ago, it was used a lot by Google in which websites that had a zero weren’t that authoritative, and websites with a 10 were super authoritative.

For example, Google is a 10. Your website may be a four, or a five, or six. The problem with PageRank is, again, as I mentioned, it doesn’t really get updated frequently. So as an SEO when you’re doing changes to your website and you’re trying to grow your rankings, are you really going to wait six months to a year for Google to update that page rank number to figure out if you’re doing better or worse?

Probably not. It’s not a good indicator because of how long it takes them to update if you’re doing better or worse. The real key metric is are your rankings and traffic going higher? But, again, it takes a long time for your rankings and traffic to go higher.

If you look at IamVashif.com, I rank on page one for the term “online marketing.” I also rank on page one for the term “SEO.” It’s not like I did something special to rank really high out of the blue. Instead of what happened, it took six months, a year, and even a year and a half to rank for some of these key terms.

But the leading indicator that showed me that I was doing well is that my domain authority continually started to increase. Now, there are two main sites that you can goto to figure out your domain authority. Open Site Explorer and Ahrefs.

Open Site Explorer is free, Ahrefs costs money. Open Site Explorer’s also limited, so after a few usages, they’re going to limit you and they’re going to be like, hey, you need to pay to use more of it. Nonetheless, they both update their number frequently. I personally prefer Ahrefs.com because it is updated more frequently than MOZ.

MOZ owns Open Site Explorer, so it’s up to you what you want to use, but try to focus on your domain authority. It goes from a scale of zero to 100. The higher up you go, the better off you are, and when you’re doing your link-building efforts, try to go after links from sites with domain authorities that are larger than yours. By doing that, your rankings and traffic are going to increase at a much quicker pace.

So, here’s a little secret, instead of trying to find new keyword opportunities to rank for, all I do is find whatever keywords are already ranked for even if they’re small, and find other long-tail variations of that same as that keyword, and generate more traffic by going after that term as well.
Here is what I mean: If you already rank for the term dog food, and you’re getting a lot of traffic for it, Google will easily rank you for all the other long-tail variations for dog food. The reason being is it’s harder to rank for the head term than it is to rank for the long-tail variation. And even if the majority of your traffic comes from a long tail term like how to become rich.
There’s still a lot of other long-tail variations even of that word. Such as, how to become rich on the internet. How to become rich through social media. So what I want you to do.

Step 1.
Head over to Ubersuggest, type in your domain. When you type in your domain, it’ll show you something called Top Pages. These will show you all the pages that are driving your traffic, and the keywords that are driving your rankings.

Step 2.
The next step, I want you to take is now to go login to Google Search Console. Again, it’ll show you all the terms that you’re already ranking for. After you do that, the next step that you need to take is to head back over to Ubersuggest and type in those exact phrases that you ranked for. Ubersuggest will show you Keywords Ideas report that shows you all the longtail variations of that term.
You’ll find that, if you rank for the head term, there’s a ton of other long-tail terms that make up a lot of traffic. Maybe not the same amount, but they may make up one-tenth of traffic,one-twentieth of traffic, even one-fifth of traffic. But if you combine all of those terms eventually it’ll add up to a ton of traffic. More than even the head term.

Step 3.
The next thing you need to do, take those terms. Go back to the page that already ranking for the head term and adjust your content. Include all those terms. Re-write the content. Make sure you’re providing value. You’re going so above and beyond people like, “Oh, my God! This is the best page ever for dog food! It shows me how to feed my dog. Shows me what kind of food to pick for them. How to pick food if they’re gaining too much weight or they’re losing too much weight. How to make them more fit and muscular. It breaks everything down.” So that way no one else needs to read any other article on dog food. What you’ll find is, after you do that, within 30 days, you’ll notice that that page will rank higher in Google for all the long-tail variations.
Because once you rank for the main head term, it’s super easy to rank for all the long-tail variations. Because the head term is the hardest one to rank for. Google naturally just pops you for all of the other ones within 30 days.
That’s the simple hack that I took to every single one of my pages on IamVashif.com Now, I have over 2,00+ articles. That’s right over 2,00+ blog posts. I’ve done on every single one. That’s why I have over four million visits a month.

Before we get started, make sure you subscribe to this Blog. Don’t get bogged down by reports and features and tools. That does very little to get you more rankings. I’m going to break down four main features and reports that you need to rank higher. And here’s best of all, you can do pretty much all of this in Ubersuggest. You can find it neilpatel.com/ubersuggest, or just go to ubersuggest.com. And you can do most of this stuff for free in Ubersuggest. That’s what’s great. So in that sense, we’ll go down the four main features you need to use and how you can do it for free.


So, let’s dive right in.

Rank Tracking

Rank Tracking, Look, on Google, if you don’t know what your rankings are if they’re going up or if they’re going down, or how things are improving or declining, how are you going to improve? Those things are really important, right? Be here’s the thing with SEO, it’s a long game. YouTube SEO is very different. You can get results within a day or two, believe it or not. Even if you have no subscribers and a brand new YouTube channel, but Google SEO is the opposite. A lot of times it can take three months, six months, even a year plus to see results. But, do you want to invest blindly in SEO? Of course not. You want to see are you getting results. Ideally, within a few months, even if your traffic’s not going up. And that’s what Rank Tracking does. It’ll tell you if you’re on page 10 or page nine of Google, or even page six. But a lot of times, you start ranking for these long-tail keywords that are very popular, such as, “How to get more Instagram followers?” That you would’ve never thought that could drive a lot of traffic because there are so many words in that query, but it can. And then, you can add that to your Rank Tracking lists within Ubersuggest, and you can start optimizing for those terms as well.

The second thing that you need to look at with these SEO tools is competitive Analysis

Competitive Analysis tells you what your competitors are doing and what’s working for them. Look, you don’t want to recreate the wheel. You want to do what’s working for others, and just do it better. Why start from scratch? And there’s no need. SEO has been around for so long, these days you can just replicate what’s working for your competitors and add a little bit of that special touch, so that way you can beat them. So, with the Competitive Analysis on Ubersuggest, you can type in any competitor URL and you can look at Top Pages. Top Pages shows you the most popular articles or pages on your competitor’s site. And what’s cool is, you can see the keywords by clicking on the Keywords button and you’ll see all the keywords that that page ranked for. And that’ll tell you, hey, should I also create a very similar page. Well, if I do, now I know what keywords to go after because it’s related to my business and it can also drive my sales.


And another cool feature is you can also see all the backlinks that are driven to that page. All the other sites that are linked to your competitor’s page. Because here’s the thing, if someone wants to link to your competitor, they’re probably willing to link to you too. So now, you got a list of links going to your competitors. So, you can create a better page that’s more thorough, go after all their keywords, and you can also hit up all the people linking to them and ask them to link to you too. The other cool thing that I like about the Competitive Analysis report on Ubersuggest, you can see how much traffic your competitors getting. If they’re getting more traffic month over month or less traffic month over month because Google is doing so many updates. If you get hit by a major update, you can see if your competitors are getting hit by major updates. You can also see all the keywords that your competitors are ranking for, as well. There’s a list. You can either do it by top pages, or you can just see a list of all the keywords, and you can see the most popular keywords in order. So now, you know what keywords you can potentially focus on. Now, when you’re looking at your competitor’s keywords, I would also look at the CPC, which Ubersuggest shows you. That stands for cost-per-click. Even though the ranking for these keywords organically, if they have a high cost-per-click, that means people are willing to spend a lot of money on the ad portion, and that means those keywords probably convert well. And those are ones that you should go after if it’s related to your business.

The third report that you need to look at and feature within these SEO tools is Keyword Ideas.

Now, the Keyword Ideas report in Ubersuggest gives you all these ideas that you can go after. In other words, it shows you what people are searching for whenever you type in a keyword, and it’ll show you what keywords people aren’t searching for. Sometimes, I think keywords going to be so popular. I type them in and I’m like, huh, only a hundred searches a month. I’m glad I didn’t go after it because if only a hundred people are searching for that keyword a month, it doesn’t mean you’re going to get a hundred visits. Being at the top, you’ll only get a fraction of those visits. So, you want to go after popular keywords. And what’s cool about the theUbersuggest Keyword Ideas report, you can filter it by any region, such as the United States or Canada, or the UK, or India, or Brazil, or even South Korea. But here’s what’s also really cool, you can then put it in cities like Seoul, South Korea, or you can put in New York, New York, or you can look at it on a state level. And this will tell you all the keywords that are popular within a region, in case you have a local business. And within the Keyword Ideas report in Ubersuggest, there’s also a Content Ideas report. What that’ll show you all the content that you can write about that are related to those keywords. So, you can see what is popular on Facebook, what’s popular on Pinterest, what’s popular from the backlinks perspective, and what’s even popular from an organic SEO perspective.

The last factor and which is number four is Backlinks.

If you don’t get people linking to you, you’re not going to do well. Backlinks are like votes. During a presidential election, the more people that vote for a candidate, the more likely they are to win. Now, I know different countries have different voting systems and there’s more to it, but just generally speaking, the more votes someone has, the more likely they are to win a presidency. The same thing is with google, but instead of a vote, they look at it as a link. Like if I link to you, that’s vote incompetence saying, hey, Vashif linking to you, or John’s linking to you, or New York Times is linking to you. But they also have other factors like the quality of those votes or backlinks. A link from New York Times is way better than a link from Vashif. A link from CNN is way better than a link from Vashif. So, you want to get ideally bigger sites linking to you and more relevant sites. And you can use the Backlinks report within Ubersuggest. And what’s cool is they have a Backlink Opportunity report more specifically, where you can put in your URL and then your competitor URLs. And it’ll show you all the people that linked to your competitors but don’t link to you. Because if someone links to not just one but two, three, four of your competitors and they don’t link to you, then chances are they don’t mind linking to other people in your space because they’re already linked to lots of your competitors.

If you’re not logged in, you can go to yourWordPress website forward slash after the domain name /wp-admin, and then you can login. Then I want to go to plugins > add new > uploadplug-in and then I drag this over here. I click on Install Now, and I close this. Then we activate the plug-in, and then weneed to connect a free account. How can we do that? We can click over here and we can sign up with our Facebook account, Google account, or an email address. I will use an email address. My name is Vashif, my email address is this one and I click on register. Awesome, now I go back over here and I click on activate RankMath. That’s it. If you don’t have a Google account, you canget a Gmail account and they have a Google account and you can link those. So I scroll down and I click on allow. Please copy this code, switch to your application, and paste it here. So I copy this, I paste the code and I was authorized, and now I can go to search console and choose my profile, but it will probablynot be there yet. As you see, what do I need to do? I need to go to Google search console, start here, make sure it is my Mohd Vashif account and I want to add a new domain. I can do it in two ways. I want to use the domain way. Do I want to include images — yes? And if you have posts, pages, products, oreven more things, I will check them all because you want to be found on all those pages, and post and Services pages. Public — I want to include them all. So I click on select, so I can be found onany page in my website. If I turn off posts, I will not be found onmy posts in my WordPress website and I want to be found on everything. I click on save and continue; awesome. Then we want to optimize our website, SEOtweaks, No index Empty category, and tag archives. If you want to create a new category for your blog posts, for instance, affiliate marketing, because you want to create affiliate marketing related blog posts in the future, but you have no blog posts yet related to the category– affiliate marketing. Then you decide over here, if you turn thison, when a category is empty, for instance, affiliate marketing category in your blogpost, it contains no blog posts with that category, it will not be shown in the index. I turn it down because it is better for the Google search results. Nofollow on external links. I turn this off because if I link to an external website, I want Google to follow it because when you link to other websites and other websites link to you, it can also be good for your search results. So I want to turn this off and open external links in a new tab. I like that. So if I click over here on a link, it willopen in a new tab instead of a new window. I prefer that, so I click on save and continue. Awesome. Our website score at this moment is 82 andI want to enable auto-update of this plugin. So when there’s an update, it will automaticallybe updated. And then I scroll down and I want to go tothe Advanced Options.

Clean, & Simple User Interface RankMath

So I click over here. When you have more active users on your website, you will see an extra option over here, something like this — the role manager. There you can say, all the administratorshave access to those features within RankMath. In that way, you can give administrators, editors, and authors certain roles when they are logged in into your website. I don’t have that because I have only oneuser in my website. So I go to the 404 + Redirection options. So what you can do over here at 404 and Redirections, you can turn them on. Here at 404 monitor, if I turn this on, itmeans that when somebody goes to a page that does not exist, for instance, iamvashif.com/123456…,that means they go to a page that does not exist. And I want to know when people go to a pagelike that, because then there’s an error in my website and I can get rid of that error. What else I can do, I can create a redirection. If I turn this on I can decide in these settings that when somebody goes to page that does not exist, then I can redirect them immediatelyto the home page or to a 404 page, or to a specific page I have created for people that go to page that does not exist. I can say on the page, “Hey, I’m sorry you’re here. At the page that does not exist anymore. Click here to go to the home page or to donatea thousand dollars to my PayPal account.” So it’s up to you what you can do. I will turn them on and I click on save andcontinue. So at schema mark up, you can give more information to Google and other search engines, so they can make your search result look better. If I go to Google, and I search for PlayStation4 Pro, I skip all the ads, and for instance, over here at cool blue — dutch website, yousee the rating, you see reviews, you see the price and more information, and that is somethingyou can do over here at schema mark up. Built With Performance In Mind

Now, it says here, welcome to RankMath. So you see over here a few options and they can be turned on, active or inactive — turned off. I don’t use Advanced Custom Fields, so it’s turned off. I don’t use BB press; I don’t use AMP. I want to use Link Counter, and if I see something I want to use, the role manager for instance, I can turn it on and then I can adjust the settings over here. So let me go to that. Here I can say the administrator should haveaccess to everything, and editor — you know what — I want to give editors also accessto this area of RankMath. And authors and contributors, all that stuff, I don’t want to give them any access. When I’m happy I click on update, or whenI have the settings I have in mind. So I go back to the dashboard and I’m happy with this. Here we can take a look at import and export, settings. So if I like those settings, I can exportthem to a different website, but before we do that, I prefer to go to all the other configurations. So here at the RankMath, I go to general settings, I close this, this, and this and then we talk about links. So here are some link settings. Let’s start with the upper one — strip category base. If you turn it on, what it will do, it willmake your domain like example.com/category/my-category, become example.com/my-category. So this area will be left out. So if I go to my website. I go to the blog page; I go to this blog postand then I go to category – Self-Improvement. This area will be left out. When I go to a blog page, it looks like this– the domain and then the link and I decided to do that here at the dashboard. Then the settings of WordPress. Permalinks, I use the post name over here, and I turn this off. I leave it as it is, because I like peopleto see the category. You can turn it on. If you turn it on, you cannot turn it off anymore. You can, but if you do so you can get 404 errors because then the links will not work anymore. Because then there’s a chance that Google links to an old page. So it’s up to you if you turn it on. If you really want to know, why I should dothis, you can click over here, and there it will be explained. Redirect attachments — I turn it on. It means when you find an attachment through Google, through a search result, you will go to the post where they appear in. So I turn it on. Redirect orphan attachments — I redirect them to my website but with https. Remove stop words from permalinks – no. That means when there’s a blog post like are getting their second child, it’s not the case, yet but maybe when you read this blog, we have two or three or 15 children already… no, not 15, but it will removethe “AND’s”, and the “THE’s” and the “A’s”. So if the file name of my image is called “sunrise,” it will appear automatically in the alt attribute. When you have this in the alt attribute, youwill be found better by that in Google. The same goes over here; missing title attributes, I want to do exactly the same. So I remove this and then I search for a filename. I save the changes. So now when I upload an image, it will automatically have the file name in the alt text and in the title attribute. The great thing is, if you want to know moreabout all these settings, you can click on learn more and there’s an amazing knowledgebase over here, with all the information with gif files, with explanation, really great. So let’s go to breadcrumbs and I can tell you, you can leave this as it is, otherwise, you need to paste this somewhere in the PHP code. It’s too complicated, you don’t need it, solet’s go to webmaster tools. Google search console. If it’s not verified yet, click over here, copy this code, paste it, here and that’s it. The same you can do with bing webmaster tools, Baidu webmaster tools, Alexa — I personally use Google search console and you can useBing. Those are two biggest ones. I never use those. I click on Save Changes, and then edit robots.txt, leave it as it is. You don’t have to do anything over here. Same over here; leave it as it is and thenif you have a WooCommerce website, you can click on WooCommerce. Then we have remove base, and it’s doing thesame as with links. It makes the link shorter, so products, accessories action figures and then this one will be changed into this one. So I like to keep it shorter.

Keep in mind, you cannot undo it. Otherwise, you can get 404 errors, but I likeit to be shorter. Remove category base – so product-category/accessoriesbecomes accessories. Well I never like this one, so I turn thisone on. Remove parent slugs, so product-category/accessories/action-figureswill be changed to product-category/action-figures. No. I like to have all the categories over here, so I turn it off. Remove generator tag; I will give this on. Remove schema mark-up on shops — yes, and then the brand. I leave it as that is. Save the changes and let’s go to others. So over here, there are some other settings. Useage tracking — I turn it on. Why? Because it will help RankMath to become evenmore powerful, and they do not use your data or whatsoever, it’s completely anonymous. If you turn this on, it will show you calculated SEO score as a badge on the front end for selected post types. It can be disabled for a specific post. So if I turn his on, I can select where Iwant to show this and I can make it a square or a circle, above, below content, or only above, only below, or using a short code. I can support RankMath with a link, but Ido not use this. It’s for your own purpose, or you can showpeople how good your website is optimized, but I leave it off. Then with RSS Before Content and RSS Afte rContent. With RSS, you can fetch information from other websites. So maybe someone wants to have news feeds of a lot of different websites. Well, they can add it to their own RSS feedand we can decide what people will see over here. You can say, I want to have my website notindexed. No pages will be indexed but, I see no reason why you should do that when you’re read this blog. So I turn this off. Everything will be indexed right now. If you see this, just leave it as it is. No index, empty category and Tag Archives, we talked about this. Turn it on. If you have no posts in a certain category, it will not be indexed which is better for your search results. Separator character; I always like to usethis one. So wherever in the website in all these settings, I say I place this tag, a separator will be shown. So keep that in mind. So post title and then you see the site title. So first you see the post title, how to geta better life by IamVashif and then you see the separator. If you change it, you see it changed over here. Then here you see https://yourdomain.comand then the post title. It looks beautiful. Capitalized title — yes. That means that every first letter of every word will have a capital letter.
I like that. Open Graph Thumbnail — that means, when thereis no featured image on a page or a post or whatever page you have, then this image willbe shown, when it will be shared on something like Facebook. You can change it, upload a file, maybe I have a photo of myself. This one, I can use that. Twitter card type — you can say summary carder summary card with large image. I leave it as it is. Save the changes. Let’s go to local SEO; there’s a chance you do not see this. Why do you not see this? Because I said that I am a small local company in the wizard. So there’s a reason you do not see this whenyou do not see that. If you have it, you can say you are a person or an organization. So if there’s a really important blog post on your website, you can say to Google, this page is important, rank it first of all my pages.

So your sitemap can have more pages. So if you have 400 links and the maximum here is 200, you will have two site maps. So you can say, I want it to be 400, but RankMathfound out that when you have a sitemap with a maximum of 200 links, it will be fetched better by Google. So leave it at 200. Do you want to include images in your sitemap– yes, of course? Do you want to include featured images in your sitemap — yes, of course. We can exclude post from being indexed.
